Because I’m a masochist, and I, indeed, would beckon the bursting of my brain if this is the cause, what if Alex Manes were to ever get on a stage to cover either “Stellar” or “Friends And Lovers” by Incubus or either “CDFF/Lucky This Time” or “Just Take My Heart” by Mr. Big? ... How just gone would Michael be in the audience?

I'm curious about your thoughts about Ava - any specific ideas you have about her life. What does she end up doing? You know Cade will follow her anywhere. ^_^
oh, Ava definitely suffers from a case of wanting to do everything and see everything and fix everything. She has so many grand plans for the Ministry especially after riding the high of her NEWTs (which you know she demolishes) that when she starts to run up against roadblocks, she hits them hard.
(these roadblocks range from being young/inexperienced to people not listening to her to someone taking credit for her ideas and Ava just goes storming in every time, determined to at least scale the roadblock if not shatter it completely.)
I think she has a hard time in the beginning, when she’s still working her way up things and is the most junior person in the room. I do think she’d move up a career ladder pretty quickly, just because of how much she brings to everything all the time always, but she always wants more.
i’m torn between the department of international magical cooperation & department of magical law enforcement (but tbh i think I just want the latter for the wizengamot -- which I could see ava strong-arming her way into being a part of lol)
ava definitely wanted to be the minister of magic when she was younger, and even though it’s not really something she wants anymore, she still kind of thinks about it sometimes, considers it like a what if?
(as far as her personal life goes....you know, she stays pretty crazy about that tall guy and his cows....)
Talk to me about Maggie, anything about her life post-Hogwarts and what she does. Does her marriage last? What does she do when her kids are grown? What happens to her during the Second War?
oh maggie my darling baby honey sunshine.
I think very quickly after the twins are born (Astoria & Scott), maggie and simon’s relationship reaches a point of complacency they never really come back from. she talks him into another child, but i think after that they kind of begin to live separate lives. maggie never badmouths him to their children, but she’s so involved in their lives that he sort of pales in comparison. there’s an effort made around holidays and other important dates, family portraits to sit for, but simon is really just there.
he tries harder when it comes to scott, but scott is very much a mama’s boy. maggie tries to encourage him to go along with it, to get in that father-son bonding time but her heart isn’t exactly in it either. (side note – scott spends a lot of time with tristan and by extension, Arthur, so it’s not like there are no male figures in his life lmao.)
Maggie definitely struggles as her kids get older and leave for Hogwarts. i don’t actually know if they ever bother to make it official, but I could actually see simon leaving once their youngest (vivianne) gets started there. and i don’t know that Maggie would talk about it a lot – not out of pride, or anything, but it just seems such a foregone conclusion. she went so quickly from being a hogwarts student to being thrown into marriage and then motherhood – motherhood is something she clings to and it kind of consumes her.
i want to say that she finds a new identity for herself, but i’m not sure how much that happens. I’ve thought on and off about her finding someone (I have a huge soft spot for Shelly and Tyler Posey ) but I feel like a lot of things would have to be just perfect.
although let us all remember that Astoria marries Draco, so Maggie is his mother-in-law…and dotes on Scorpius.
As for what happens to her during the Second War, she doesn’t make herself that memorable for Voldemort or other death eaters tbh. she’s not really an important player, although I could see her joining Declan after battles and helping patch him up. I could also see her taking in halfbloods and muggleborns, although everyone thinks she’d crack under pressure, she’s so aggressively cheerful that any Ministry worker who questions her walks away with a belly of tea and biscuits believing that it must’ve just been a rumor.
I just wanna day I love everything you’re saying - Alex deserves love and happiness, but this time in his story is a great opportunity for him to learn to love himself, because he still struggles with his identity and his family, and I’m sure with PTSD. Like, being with someone doesn’t equal being happy. Alex can have a worthy storyline without hookups. I want him to live his life for himself for once and get some well-deserved happiness, and then I have no doubt guys will notice him.
I just think Alex has so much going on already. Beyond his love story with Michael, his dad is a murderer, and evil, and now currently is in a coma, and it’s likely they’re all in danger. He’s also still working through his trauma and ptsd. And they have all the crap they got from Caulfield to go through. There’s just so much going on. And while I love the relationship stuff, it’s not the only thing about these characters. They are all more than that. Isobel and Kyle are both single too. So is Jenna (assuming she comes back). And Rosa. And technically Liz since her boyfriend is dead now. I mean even Michael and Maria we don’t really know where they stand. Let’s see how things go.
the wine bottle hasn’t been entirely forgotten, but given that it’s the second empty one tonight, it’s fair to say it’s not entirely on their minds.
jeri giggles at the flush in maggie’s cheeks, reaching up to push her hair out of her face. she’d gotten up at some point to check on tristan (well-meaningly) but in his hug, he’d loosened things and her hair was falling messily. “that’s so not true, maggie, that’s so bad,” she says, obviously trying to sound serious, but she’s stifling giggles with every word.
“swear on my life!” maggie answers, earnestly but also loudly – and she’s trying to cover her mouth, but her giggles are escaping. “he really didn’t realize he could put the onesie on with magic and poor scott is getting snapped in all the wrong places. the house elf came and got me when simon almost threw a sock at it.”
and jeri’s gone too, her giggles finally getting the better of her. they’re leaning against each other, jeri’s head on maggie’s shoulder as the older girl reaches for their glasses. luckily for both of them, tristan is fast asleep and maggie’s elves are taking care of daphne and the twins.
“i think we need some more,” she informs her, squeezing jeri’s shoulder. “and then i can tell you all about the babies pooping on the robes simon’s mother tried to pop them into, you should’ve seen her face….”
