I love Jeremy Denk.  I love his piano playing, yes I do, but dare I say I love the way he communicates about his playing even more?  

I've blogged fairly recently on writing program notes, or how not to!  Apparently poor Jeremy Denk had to play a piece of Mozart that the writer of the program notes thought to be second rate.  How dare that writer put Jeremy in such an awkward position, a position of having to defend himself and the work to an audience whose opinions are negatively coloured??!! Ridiculous.

Dear Mr. Denk, please write all your own program notes in the future.  For an audience of laypeople it would be better with less technical language, but please never lose the passion in your writings about music.

The thing that has always irked me about the victim class is how much they want to defer responsibility to someone else. It doesn’t matter if it’s the one percent, the patriarchy, capitalists, Christians or anything else. These people have to make someone else responsbile for their own failings and shortcomings.

This is what the protests are all about – it’s anger that Wall Street has been profiting from an imaginary economy that leaves bankers overpaid, but creates damage everywhere else. Sherman doesn’t get this. He seems to subscribe to the well-worn straw-man position that protesters are simply upset that bankers and financiers make a lot of money.

Please Read Special Message of Support for Terence who may be in custody in Alameda County Jail

"Terence and I were at the Occupy Oakland protest yesterday around 1 pm and stayed into the evening. we were there to take photos and video and were not planning to get arrested.

I was with Terence the whole day , the last time I saw him was in front of the YMCA. The police rushed the building with out a dispersal order. 

I was was arrested and lost sight of Terence around 6:45pm.

I have 2 phone calls from him on my phone shorty after I was arrested.

I tried to call him around 2 pm but no answer.

I think he may have been arrested he has not answered his phone. I was arrested around 6:30 pm and did not get released until 7am. I believe that many of those arrested after my group were taken to Santa Rita county jail in Dublin.

I called the NLG to see if they have any info on Terence but he is not showing up in the Alameda County jail database yet but there are still hundreds of arrests to process you can check immate's that have been processed by using this website

Please keep him in your thoughts he may not be released until Mon morning.

I will keep trying to find out info if anyone had heard any news let me know
