Come join our public meeting on Monday, February 6 in the West Lafayette Public Library to experience our cause. If you can’t make it, though, feel free to stop by Hovde Hall during business hours (Monday-Friday, 8-5). We’ll be there.
A video of the rally I was part of Saturday. You can see me several times, all in which I am not looking at the camera. I hate cameras. At least being in front of them.
Listen to your mothers, kids.
When I was a 18 years old, I graduted high school and already had plans to go to Purdue University the following fall. While this is only about and hour and a half from my Chicagoland suburb, Purdue was still considered "going away" since I would be living there during my time at school.
Before I left, I remember my mom telling me and other people that she was afraid of letting me go away from school since I would just be busy being in protests and not actually getting any work done. It being my senior year now, and after I immediately decided to take part of the Occupy Purdue rally and march, I realized just how right she was.
Really kids, you may fight with your mom about every single little thing, but she knows you more than you wish to believe. Be grateful for your mothers, since they'll most likely be the ones who bail you out of jail for trying to make this country just a little better.
