Hoard tackling, the first week:
Found several things I had been driving myself up the wall thinking I had lost or thrown out. But thankfully never bought replacements for, something I’ve done a lot in the past.
Gave away 1 storage bin worth of fabric.
Used vacuum sealing bags to compress faux fur and yarn to save a ton of space. The sealed items also go pretty rigid when all the air is sucked out, so it makes stacking and moving them a lot easier.
Filled and catalogued the contents of three storage bins, emptying a fourth in the process (moving items from the fourth into the other three)
Filled those bins by ‘theme’ rather than just randomly throwing stuff in them. That means that I’ll have one bin for jewellery supplies, one for general arts and crafts, one for sewing/embroidery, and so on. This will mean that when I want to work on a specific project, I only have to go into a single bin to get what I need, rather than a bunch of different ones.
Cleared out a shelf in my wardrobe.
Put one of the filled bins on the shelf- now it is filled, catalogued, and OUT OF THE WAY!! (I’ll put a second bin on the shelf after lunch, my arms are a bit noodly right now, so I’m going to have to work up to lifting more)
