hello!!! I'm the same anon that a rant a while ago idk if u remember (it's totally fine if u don't!) but do u have any tips for reducing/controlling anxiety? living in central CA is NOT the best atm bc of the fires (one of which is getting too close for comfort). thank you sm! I love ur blog -🌁

hello :) i remember u !!! i don’t have many tips but i do have a couple that were given to me by my counselor that may be of help:

identifying what makes you feel more anxious (like thought patterns!) and saying STOP out loud to interrupt yourself & to recognize when u r thinking in ways that aren’t helpful to yourself

mindfulness & finding ways to be in the present tend to help me! so when i find myself feeling really anxious i try to sit with that feeling and think of it as separate from myself. if that makes sense? for me when i can’t find a reason to explain why i’m feeling anxious it gets worse so i try to just be in the moment with it and not explain it to myself

there are couple ways of grounding urself that might help. like 4-7-8 breathing or naming 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, etc. 

things that require a good amount of focus help me as well. recently piano has helped me very much!! my mind can’t wander very far when i’m playing music
