it's your turn

Once there was a man who had decided to believe in me- why?

Did he not know? Had he not seen? For control I don’t have but it

Seems to be calling out- this opportunity i see clearly

If ever there was a man who said it was lie after dumb lie

It may just be said sincerely

So I stand at the ready, ready for a chance to unleash it

I'm ready to hear this man say that it could be fun- but my ears

They are screaming, sirens sounding, trying to believe it, please burn

see the fire roaring making an attempt at fate- a deep pit

You stumbled in far past high noon (But always claim you came too soon) To count each passing fettered beat The second hand’s, once brisk, retreat. That always seemed to arch to north, Like every moon that’s gone its course, And drowned in rippling waves of sky, Treading the clouds that wandered by Finally sinking in folds of stars. The clocks kept ticking, the clocks were ours. But Noon was never quite the same, Blame it on the Second Hand’s shame. For soon came One, and Two and Three, The hands melted down gracefully. And at the dusk would find their stride Pull hours forward as minutes died Beg calmly for the moonless night The stars cradling the casket tight Where once the moon alive would sleep And spin his lies without a peep.
