Presenting your ATA Game Jam 2017 contestants!
After three days of flexing our creative/coding/blogging muscles – the final products are HERE. Presenting our Teams!
Team #1 – Goblin Jam Game: Party in my Tavern
Party in My Tavern is equal parts fun, simple and addictive. It’s a bit like Mario Party except all you need to bring is your mobile device and a bunch of friends. These competitive mini-games will only require the simplest controls, but they sure will bring loads of drunken fun!
Team #2 – 2 Much Awesome Game: Battle Boozers
Beer pong + Clash Royale = Battle Boozers. Attempt to take down your enemy’s villagers in a hectic, local, competitive multiplayer experience! Every time your villages get hit you must drink. The more you drink, the less control you have. Outlast your opponent to be the drinking champion. You’ll never know what this crazy world will throw at you!
Team #3 – Heckfighters Game: Heckfighter Inspired by the early days of Project Kraken, when Tapapalooza (incemental game where you tap for resources) became a thing. Heckfighter takes a smashing screen to a new level. Players enter Olga’s betting ring where two foes are randomly selected to fight. Those waiting on the sidelines place their bets on who will win (running commentary obviously exists) and the victor gets a cut of the betting pool. This is basically a tap-off game where you place your salty bets fast and furiously.
Team #4 – Octo-Rocks Game: Collateral Hammage
Octo-Rocks drew their inspiration from the elementary school yard game, red Rover. Collateral Hammage is all about battles over ham! Two teams made up of troops, villagers, spearmen and dragons meet in the middle to fight over hams in re-enactment of the exploits of the legendary hero, Hocklin. The strongest team wins their victory over a gory battle!
Team #5 – Goblettes Game: Gobblin’ Goblins
Dragon Snack Attack is inspired by the Goblettes’ shared characteristics. What state are they always in? Hunger. What do they really like? Snacks. What shouldn’t they touch, typically? Butts. So they thought, hey, what about a game incorporating all three and some historically accurate dragons? Absolutely.
Team #5 – Salty Hams Game: Ham It Up!
Ham It Up! is a Real Time Online Competitive Dragon Feeding Battle Game (RTOCDFBG for short). Players must quickly decide if what comes up on the screen is edible or not, dragging it to their dragon to increase its strength or tossing it to an enemy dragon to hinder its progress. Time’s limited so act fast!
