The Prince of Hyrule A request from Padpensll The Prince of Hyrule appears in the NES title Adventure of Link released in 1987 His Father the King had ruled Hyrule with the power of the Triforce. When the King died the Prince inherited everything, Except for the Triforce. The King had searched for a worthy successor to wield the power of the Triforce. The King knew what the Triforce was capable of doing, and if it was given to the wrong person, evil would befall Hyrule. But he never found such a person. Even his own son was unworthy. So the King spilt the Triforce The Triforce of Courage was secretly hidden away in the Great Palace. The Triforce of Wisdom was given to His daughter Zelda. And the Triforce of Power was given to the Prince. The Prince was angry that he only inherited a part of the Triforce. He searched the Castle and the Kingdom to find the other pieces of the Triforce but was unable to locate them. One day a mysterious magician came to the Prince and told him that the King had given the Triforce of Wisdom to the Princess. The Prince confronted his sister, but she refused to tell him the King’s secret. The magician was furious and against the Prince’s orders cast a spell on the Princess to sleep forever. This spell was so powerful that it killed the magician who the Prince later discovered was a servant of Ganon the King of Evil who wanted to claim the power of the Triforce for himself. The Prince was broken hearted over his lust for power and the fate of sister so he placed her in a special chamber and proclaimed that from that on every first born daughter of the Royal Family will be given the name Zelda in honor of his Sister Zelda the First.
