Watched Oculus! I love this more classic horror movie approach, it gave me shivers

But that end! Why?! No!

I liked it, it had atmosphere!

I can imagine quite a bunch of people being "Uh it was SHIT though" because there wasn't enough gore, blood and jump scares so it's not a real/a bad horror movie.

Now let's talk about gore and horror.

Personally i am not much into this overdosis of gore in modern horror movies. There are probably movies in which i think it fits but otherwise i think that gore or blood is not what makes a true horror movie. If used right though and in the right amount it definitely adds to it (lightbulb bite. That's all. brrrrrr)

If a horror movie lives through the fear of the characters and the threat whatever haunts them (if it's a paranormal thing, simply psychological or both) i think it's doing something right.

For me it definitely fullfills the job of giving me the shivers.

Even afterwards. For example at night when you go to the loo and suddendly feel uneasy because that thrilling, wary and nervous feeling that you had during the film while you were all concentrated on it comes back when you're alone.

That is exciting, isn't it?!

Another thing i like is when (while watching) you can't really tell " So was that an evil spirit or did they lose their minds before already?"

Simply exciting stuff, horror...
