I've seen people complaining about the Monet vs Zoro & Tashigi fight because it reeks of sexism and... I disagree?
The first couple of post-time skip archs show a very strong straw hat crew (especially when it comes to Zoro, Luffy and Sanji) while everyone else has somewhat stayed the same. Monet is supposed to serve as proof that Zoro's strength has grown immensely, thus he doesn't want to fight her. Simply put: he doesn't fight to kill (neither do any of the straw hats), so he wanted Tashigi to fight in his stead.
Do I necessarily like how the scene played out? No, Tashigi was basically useless, which doesn't make sense given how she's a high ranking officer of the Navy.
Zoro finishing Monet off by making her so afraid she sabotaged herself only highlights:
Tashigi's incompetence
Zoro's growth (not the fact that he 'doesn't fight women) as the first new world archs tend to highlight
The problem here imo is Oda's disregard for his female characters. He gives them compelling backstories and make them full-fleshed characters, but in a fight-centred series, underdeveloping your women's strengths automatically sets the narrative against them and give the storyline a decidedly sexist layer (which is not always the male characters's fault --Luffy, Zoro, Smoker, Franky, etc aren't sexist; Brook and Sanji are, though).
I've said it before, but Oda needs to exploit his female characters better and One Piece will instantly be more compelling. Imagine if:
Tashigi were on par with Zoro, thus reawakening the competitiveness he felt when Kuina was alive (as a sidenote, her death was so, so, so fucking stupid) and in turn enriching both of their characters
Nami's control over the climate was given the attention it was due. This woman can, potentially, create cyclones, thunderstorms, torrential rain, etc. Ofc she probably couldn't control the climatic catastrophies she creates, but imagine knowing that she has those tricks up her sleeve
Shirahoshi overcame her overall wimpiness (not saying it's unprompted, though, because it *is*) and started using her powers
Robin is perfect but imagine if we saw more of her and Oda devoted more time to her fighting scenes?
Like, just imagine how great One Piece would become if Oda edited out all of his weird perviness. Imagine if Sanji was very obsessed with women, but not too obsessed with them (meaning, he affords them basic human respect). Imagine if Brook didn't ask anyone to see their panties. Just imagine if the ragingly straight characters were decent human beings!!!!!!

I'm sure you've seen it and I'm sure you've commented on it, I'm a little late, but this drawing... A mother about to kill her baby so the child won't suffer from hunger, has broken my heart.
Oda knows how to make us feel intensely in an apparently simple drawing. This reminds me of the famines that have plagued Japan before the country became what it is now. Oda doesn't forget that either.
Ok but HOW FUCKING DARE THEY INTRODUCE THE LITERAL GENTLE GIANT, LITTLE OARS JR AND JUST FRIGGEN KILL HIM OFF LIKE THAT?!?!
