So with Kath, everything was pretty smooth. There were no complications, delivery went better than she thought it would, it was just perfect. She went back to work about 8-10 weeks after when she was comfortable leaving Kath with people beside her or Bruce, as well as when she was able to get her to take a bottle (she pumped). She started suiting up about 6 months after when she had time to work out to the extent she used too. 

Eli was… different. She had been injured at work, badly, and she had an emergency c-section. So he was early, and he was in the NICU for 2 weeks. She was in the hospital for a week and a half to recover, but after all that, they were fine. He was nursed too, though everything was a few more weeks out. So she went back to work at 10-12 weeks, suiting up probably closer to 8 months just to make sure her abdomen had time to recover. 

Now the twins were the worst. She knew she was pregnant with 1, not 2. She fainted in the OR, giving herself a concussion and going into early labor. At 25 weeks. They tried giving meds to help slow things down, didn’t work. The twins were born within 12 hours.

Jen was in the ICU herself for 3 weeks, and then the hospital additional 2. The twins stayed in the NICU until they would have been full term, and then Lucy an additional week. 

They were not nursed just because all the meds they had Jen on messed with it all. She didn’t go back to work for 6 months, just to recover and spend time with her little babies. And suiting up? She didn’t even consider it for well over a year, closer to a year and a half. It took her until they were closer to 2 before she stepped foot in the field again.

But she did a lot at the watchtower, helping where she could… with two babies by her side. There are lots of pictures of those two being held by various Leaguers.

She couldn’t help but laugh, the joke was corny, but sweet. She always forgot about this side of Bruce. The calm, relaxed side. The one it felt like he didn’t get to embrace more often. She kissed his cheek, smiling, “Very funny, Bruce.”

Character Development Questions: Hard Mode // accepting

Her dreams don’t tend to reoccur, but I guess the theme is ‘peace’. Like that everyone can just stop and live normal lives. It never the same idea of peace, but it ties back to it. It evolves as the people around her does, it’s gotten more complicated and then very simple. But it’s just... the people she loves - whether family or friend - getting to live a peaceful life without any more heartbreak.

Her nightmares, however, have a lot more. A common one is death, usually her mother, but sometimes the kids (mostly Jason and Damian, since they have died, or Lucy, because she’s gotten close) or Bruce. Once or twice Alfred.

Another is pain. That she’ll have caused someone she loved pain, whether emotional or physical. She’s just constantly worried about hurting those she cares about.

There are others, they reoccur...  but not as common as those two.

Waking up next to Bruce should be.. comfortable. Returning to consciousness right now was anything but. His head was pounding and he was sore all over, especially at his side--gods, it was like he was hit with a truck. Several times over.

J’onn’s eyes opened, and immediately he was startled with what he saw. Himself. But not in a mirror--because he was obviously in a different position. Sitting up with a grun posed a second problem: That wasn’t his voice. He was wearing a mask. Things added up quickly enough for the Martian as he did his best to nudge the other awake.

“Batman. Batman, wake up.”
