#im tired #of being told #THAT COLLEGE IS JUST FOR LEARNING #ITS NOT #its societal pressure from parents and schools #cause we all know that the best chance to get a good job is to get any sort of degree #the only reason im not fucking off of my photography degree is cause im 2 classes away from my associates #and i know that i'll have higher sucess getting a better job #with any type of degree #its hard to go to college #and i honestly dont reccommend it #at least in the US #if you live somewhere with good collge programs that dont leave you in the dirt #go for it #get the education for the job you want #college is not to learn something knew #thats what ive learned #i've learned new shit #of course #but also 90-100% of the stuff I've learned is stuff I could find on onile course for lest than 4 #thousand dollars #if you have an intrest for it #learning is not fun #its boring #and frustrating #i feel like im hitting a wall #i dont enjoy college #i HATE it #i hate the stress #the burnout

*whispers* I just think that if we're going to dissect whether Klaus's addictions make him a good or bad character or good or bad representation that we also need to remember he was created by a person who has had long struggles with substance addictions in their life and who has come out of them as a more coherent and productive person and artist than they were when they were in the throes of them. He was created by a person who knows addicts are people and who knows what it's like to live with that perception and pain.

Like, Klaus being an addict isn't inherently incriminating. Klaus being an addict because he's struggling with his very real, literally overwhelming fear and trauma and was never taught healthy coping mechanisms is a manifestation of his will to live. As is his desire to be clean in the back half of the season. That was his decision. No one forced him to get clean, he wanted to get clean and he reached out to the people who he thought could help him.

He wanted to get clean so he could see a loved one again and he wanted to get clean so he could focus more on his powers and help his family and he wanted to be a better person in spite of everyone constantly dismissing him as just a junkie. That's such good character growth! That's a character being treated with hope and empathy from a place of deep understanding of what it means to be without either! A character who is more than just a sad trope bingo card! And I can't speak for the rest of the fucking gays but I for one THINK THAT'S GREAT.
