Dino Week~!

The Fifth Day

Notes: I'm a tad bit late to this. Already Day 5 but muse has been fickle to work with as we both are trying to throw ideas at one another. I'd also like to thank @mandakatt as we were talking and this popped in my head for today. I didn't actually have an idea for the prompt until I talked with her. XD

So here is my Dino Week Day 5 piece. I hope you all enjoy~

Prompt: Time of Need / Soft Side

Summary: My OC (Hana) and Talcott want to do something nice for Dino on his birthday. It's no secret on how much Dino absolutely adores his Lil Bambino even if Talcott isn't really his own kid.....yet.

"Are you sure about this Hana?" A mid-teen Talcott looked over at the strawberry-blonde woman as she was adding the finishing touches to their present for Dino. "Like...do you really think he'll like it? Or even be okay with it? We did kind of decide this without him..."

"Oh Talcott." Hana smiled softly at the brown haired boy and nodded. "Dino will be thrilled. Believe me." She spoke softly and took a seat next to the boy. She set her hand on his as the boy leaned his head on Hana's shoulder. "He loves you as if you were his own son. As do I if you were also my own child. I have no doubt in my mind that something like this will mean the world to him."

"But I thought you already were his whole world." Talcott joked with a soft chuckle. Hana only giggled in return as she handed the perfectly wrapped gift to the young male.

"Then you will just be the perfect addition to his already wonderful world." Hana added on and laughed as Talcott did a soft fake gag.

"Alright. Enough with the soft mushy stuff, Miss Hana. I hear him coming down the steps now." Talcott told Hana as he stood up and held the box behind his back just as the man they were waiting for appeared.

"He-hey!" Dino said with a smile once he saw Hana and Talcott. "Been wonderin' where you two ran off to."

"You know," Hana began softly as she gave the jeweler a quick kiss, "Talcott and I were just talking about how we should give our gift to you."

"Oh yeah, Doll?" Dino chuckled as he set his lips upon Hana's for another quick kiss. "You're telling me I've still got more presents to open?" He winked and sent a knowing look to Hana who in turn blushed lightly and laughed.

Talcott gaged lightly causing the two older adults to laugh at his reaction. Dino came over and ruffled Talcott's hair with a gentle smile.

"You'll be the same way once you meet your one special person, Bambino." Dino told the brown haired male before smiling widely. "Now let your pal Dino open up that gift that you keep tryin' to hide behind ya back!"

Hana led Dino to sit down with her on the bench that he's always sitting at. Even when the darkness came across the land Dino stayed put. Talcott even told her once that Dino apparently stated that the "Quay is the place to be" when a young Talcott also expressed his concerns with Dino choosing to stay where not much light was. That's why the two are here now, throwing the man a birthday amidst all the chaos. Coctura even agreed with the idea and with the help of a lot of hunters, the Quay really was the place to be tonight. Lights lit up everywhere pushing the nearby daemons back. The beaches were open once again as friends, colleagues, acquaintences, and Hana even noticed some of the Ghiranze family present for this celebration.

Talcott took a deep breath before handing Dino the birthday card that he had picked out himself just for the jeweler. He could see Dino's eyes gazing throught the words of the card and the jeweler let out a little chuckle once he read that Talcott had signed it as "your Bambino".

"That was sweet, Bambino." Dino said with a big smile as he looked up at the kid who stood in front of him. "Now give me that box so I can see what else ya got for me."

Hana watched on as Talcott nervously handed the box over to Dino. She held one of Talcott's hands in one of her own as a way to calm the teen down. She knew he was very nervous of what Dino's reaction would be.

The jeweler tore the wrapping paper off and opened the box. A loud chuckle escaped his lips as he lifted the two boxes of hair dye from the box that was full of tissue paper. A soft smile stayed on his lips as he moved the tissue paper around and pulled out....a manilla envelope? Confusion could clearly be seen on Dino's face as he set the boxes of dye back in the box and set that down on the floor next to him.

When Dino opened the envelope, Hana could feel Talcott squeeze her hand tightly as she could feel his pulse quicken. She rubbed her thumb along Talcott's hand just as Dino pulled out the papers that were inside the envelope.

He read over everything quickly before his breath caught in his throat as he processed what these papers in front of him were. Dino's eyes could be seen rereading everything over and over as they started to water. His hands slowly fell onto his lap still clutching the papers close as he looked up at Talcott and then to the birthday card and back to the papers in his hand.

"Your Bambino." Dino repeated those words that Talcott had wrote before the jeweler leaned forward on his knees and set a hand to his forehead.

"We got everything all transferred over." Hana told Dino as she smiled once she realized that the male was crying. "I know you had talked about Talcott as if he was your own son. Then we've had our own conversation before about bringing it up to Monica and Dustin since they were the ones who had claimed custody of him after....after everything happened. So Talcott and I went ahead and got everything done."

"Miss Monica and Mr. Dustin were more than happy to help us with it all." Talcott added. "And well......umm.....I'm really glad about it. Cause I can finally call you my dad and have it mean something more than just a word."

That was it. Dino's shoulders shook as he cried. It took him a moment before he collected himself and stood up to give Talcott, his son, a big hug. Dino held the boy tightly as a wide smile grew on his face as everything came together in his head. He had always seen Talcott as his own since he first met the little kid. Talcott was a kid unlike any other and over the years Dino taught him all that he was once taught as a young boy.

They pulled away and turned to Hana who sat there with a wide smile on her face and tears in her own eyes. This was definitely one of the best birthdays Dino has ever had in his whole life. He watched as Talcott pulled Hana up to join them in a family group hug.

This moment couldn't be any better for Dino. He was sure in the years to come that nothing would ever come between him and those that he calls his family. He'd sacrifice himself for the two people in front of him if it meant they could live another day.

They were and would always be his whole world.
