WIP Summaries

I realized I tag things with my story titles and characters with no context on here so if anyone is interested...

Story summaries under the cut

Syndicate (working title):

Characters: MC Terran; Raymond, Mika. Villian: Zachary

Terran is an assassin in Calson City, where a criminal syndicate controls the city. Raymond was working with them until he rebelled and saved someone they were going to kill, and Terran was supposed to execute him but faked R's death instead. Terran's learning morality, realizing thay he doesn't want to be in this situation anymore, learning right and wrong, but simultaneously trying to hide what he's done to avoid getting killed as a traitor himself. Conflict is mainly whether he learns real compassion and freedom from the syndicate, or if he resists this in favor of keeping up his cover. Mika is Raymond’s twin sister who doesn't know he's alive and had to take Raymond’s place as an assassin and hates it. Oh and there's also magic and gay.

(Really hard to give a concise but interesting plot description)

Fantasy, unique powers, kind of an asshole MC with a redemption-type arc, emotional, crime, deception, mlm, new adult. Six of Crows X White Cat

Second Chance

Characters: MCs: Chrys, Russell. Side Characters: Nora, Ava, Joce, Kaitlyn, Ardisci, Raine, Korin, Silas, Nellie, Alina, Diana

Chrys lives every day twice. This has been her life for as long as she can remember. Nothing on the first day lasts, so she’s developed a dual persona: On the first day, she doesn’t care about any consequences, does whatever she lives. When the real day comes, she’s perfect, put-together, a good student and rule-follower. Russell lives a life of gods and magic, and he’s landed in a version of the world that’s different from the one he knows-- In this timeline, he died before ever betraying his god. Chrys’s wold is changed and opened to a world that makes slightly more sense: there are gods and her experience comes from the magic she holds. That magic is what Russell needs if he has any hope of a normal life. And for Chrys, this new reality changes her life, and may mean she has far more power than she ever dreamed.

Astrid & Onyx WIP

In a world that shares similarities to our own, a passionate political activist, Astrid, faces the winning results of a politician she vehemently opposes. She calls upon Tuvalden, god of tragedy, through Onyx, Tuvalden’s aide that she has had a run in with in the past. Tuvalden challenges her belief that switching out one person in power can fix things, and Astrid is sent back in time to before one of the worst tragedies in history to prove it. Onyx-- a depressed former human who has gotten very comfortable with their job of comforting people in their worst moments--now needs to help Astrid prove herself, but all they want is to go back to their job.

Alternative history with fantasy elements, time travel, gods. Deals with oppression, queerphobia, and depression. Possible heist-like shenanigans. Possible qpr. Found family.  

Story is very much in infancy.

Immortal Souls (On Hold)

Characters: MCs: Maera/Hazel, Will/Kaine, Logan

Takes place in 2 timelines. In the 1940s, Maera and Logan (non-binary) are best friends, young but facing an immortal life. Both are witches. But Maera ends up leaving Logan behind to protect her mom, and gets killed for it. Before that she makes friends with Will. In the present, Loagan has been dealing with greif over losing their best friend, and Maera and Will are reincarnated as Hazel and Kaine-- with memories intact. As they search to remember their past they find each other again, and that there problems wete not left in the past.

Fantasy based in real world pagan witchcraft, immortality, reincarnation, memories, found family, queerplatonic relationship, mlm, wlw, non-binary MC. New Adult.

Faye & Myra (not a title just the MCs)

Characters: MCs: Faye, Myra. Side Characters: Finch, Amy, Neil, Tyler.

Faye is pulled into a friend group with her brother but doesn't stay too feel like she belongs until Myra spends more time with them. Myra has been incredibly lonely and doesn't feel like her current freindships and relationships are worthwhile but also feeps obligayed to continue them. She feels better hanging out with her cousin Finch's freinds but doesn't think she deserves it or belongs. Wlw romance focused on self-discovery. Found family, teenage friendship, friend groups, class disparity, trauma. No solid plot yet just a love of the characters, but I want a focus of it to be how powerful queer friend groups are.

off base: Words can’t express how sorry I am for disappearing off of the face of the earth and not giving you guys an explanation other than “sorry this is late!” I’ve been dealing with some health problems stemming from my transitioning, not to mention living on my own and budgeting my finances without a job is a lot  more stressful than I anticipated. 

(Interestingly enough, my school work is the thing giving me the least amount of stress.)

I do want to reassure you guys that I’m okay. And I’m still here. I’ll be busy this weekend and next weekend but I’ll get my replies done by the end of the month. And I will have starter calls on this blog and on Vailintin’s blog.

For those of you who have left, I don’t blame you. I haven’t been doing anything on tumblr in a while and my activity is sparse. But for those of you who stuck around, thank you! I’m glad you’re here, and I hope to make this ride more enjoyable for you.

Air

Russell looks confused, but his eyes zone out a little, and he must be talking to it. A moment later, he says, “It says we can try.” He holds out a hand to me. -Off Base

Tip

Truth was, we weren’t that different. As soon as he’d walked in I’d wanted a way out, I’d been compromised. I’d gotten the aversion to guns as a method from Zachary himself, it was a solid excuse. But what was the story then? That I’d tipped him off myself? -syndicate

Hope

Despite how apart they’d grown, Mika looked a lot like her brother. Her hair, though longer, had the same shine to it. Their skin was practically the same shade— a light, warm brown. They had the same round face and the same deep brown eyes— though Mika’s were so often full of anger. Raymond’s were full of hope, despite everything. -syndicate

Law

She nodded, giving a small smile. “Time stops make it very hard to maneuver. The laws of physics get messed up, it’s impossible to do anything. So we slow it it down to—” She looked at her Nexus. “Once second real time passed every two million of our seconds pass, which means you’d have to be gone for about three and a half hours for someone’s eye to even process you were gone.” -Second Chance

For someone who writes about crime a decent amount the word "law" was super hard to find.
