Part 7: “Trouble at the Table” Pairing: Jungkook × Reader (Y/N) Genre: Angst | Drama | Jealous Ex | Protective Jungkook Rating: 🔞 (Mature themes, emotional tension, language)
You and Jungkook had finally started living without the shadows.
Your brother was cooling off, things were feeling real—like actual couple real. Dates that didn’t involve hiding. Touches that didn’t have to stop when someone walked into the room. You could breathe.
Which is why tonight, you were glowing.
A rooftop bar. City lights below. Jungkook’s hand on your thigh. His other hand holding your waist as you laughed into his neck.
That’s when she showed up.
Lena.
Tall. Stunning. That kind of confidence that came with knowing people watched her when she walked into a room.
Jungkook’s ex.
And judging by the look on her face when she spotted the two of you—she hadn’t just happened to be there.
“Wow,” she said, walking straight up to your table like she belonged. “Didn’t expect to see you here.”
Jungkook stiffened instantly. “Lena.”
You blinked. So this was her.
She turned to you, eyes raking over your outfit like she was sizing you up. “And you must be the reason Jungkook stopped replying to my messages.”
You raised a brow. “Didn’t realize exes kept that kind of access.”
She smirked, eyes cold. “We had unfinished business.”
You opened your mouth, but Jungkook spoke first.
“There’s nothing unfinished,” he said flatly. “You and I? That ended a long time ago.”
She leaned on the table, ignoring his words completely. “You remember that party in Itaewon? You said I’d always be your favorite.”
Jungkook’s jaw flexed. “I was drunk. And dumb. And I didn’t know what love actually was back then.”
That shut her up for half a second. Then her eyes flicked to you again.
“She doesn’t look like your type, you know.”
“Oh?” you smiled sweetly, leaning forward. “Funny, he doesn’t scream regret when he’s inside me.”
Jungkook choked on his drink. Lena’s expression cracked.
“Okay,” Jungkook stood, sliding his hand around your waist. “We’re done here.”
“Jungkook—”
“No,” he said, voice low. Dead serious. “You don’t get to waltz in here and talk to her like that. You lost the right to even say my name when you cheated on me.”
That stunned you.
Lena’s face paled, but she scoffed like it was no big deal. “You always were dramatic.”
“Leave,” he said. “Before I make it messy.”
Lena glared at both of you, then flipped her hair and walked off, heels clicking like thunder behind her.
You exhaled the breath you didn’t realize you were holding.
“Okay,” you said. “She’s awful.”
Jungkook sat back down, pulling you into his lap now. “She’s also very gone. Forever.”
You rested your head against his shoulder. “Didn’t know she cheated on you.”
“Doesn’t matter,” he said softly, kissing the top of your head. “She never really knew me. You do.”
You leaned back to meet his eyes. “You really mean that?”
“I meant it the first time I kissed you,” he whispered. “You’re not just someone I love, Y/N. You’re my peace.”
Your heart melted. Right there on a rooftop, under the stars, with chaos behind you and Jungkook in front of you—everything finally felt right.
