A map where Africa actually looks as big as it is would be a 1:1 scale map of the world and the only one of those I know of is Earth [/taking things too literally]

But hmm, the Robinson I think. Like all flat maps it distorts shape and area very slightly but tries to distort them both as little as possible. Plus it has rounded edges, which avoids the awkward problems of having a rectangular map of a round planet. But that's all aesthetic, really. That's what I prefer in terms of a good looking wall poster.

All maps are basically tools, not just pictures. They serve a purpose (even Mercator has its use as a navigational aid). And they're all "wrong" to some extent as they're flat representations of a round world. Each map projection has its own usefulness! If you want a "correct" representation of Earth, you'll have to use a globe.

Oh man I don’t know. I really enjoyed reading Green Angel (by Alice Hoffman) and Hell Phone (by William Sleator) way back then

I can’t really give an update on it because the only books I have time to read (barely) are the lame school books that are overly priced. the two that I listed above are nice books though!
