My last meal in magical Manali was this absolutely gorgeous tandoori trout, at a really underrated restaurant called Mayur, off the main Mall Market road. So, Mayur doesn't feature in the first couple of pages about the the best places to eat at in Manali, and as someone who tried most of these places first-hand, I'd lay my money on this no-fuss, all-about-the-food establishment that deserves better. Also, another gem that the guide books don't breathe a word about- the crisp, incredible hard apple cider the apple county has! I mean, no places mention serving this on their menus and yet, it's locally made and freely available. And it's Delish with a very mild sweetness, something our microbreweries with their "craft" brews need to get in with. Also, if you go to a new place and don't even give the local food (dietary preferences taken into consideration) a fair chance, you're doing it all wrong.
