Alistair was never the one to show emotion. It was his own personal policy to remain as unreadable as possible. But, on this morning, he came back into the shop from his daily walk visibly flustered. He all but ran in and slammed the door shut, pressing his back against it. His face was paler than usual. "Ursa!" He beckoned his apprentice in a voice that was somewhere between a loud whisper and a quiet scream. "Close all of the drapes! Don't make a sound until I tell you it's okay to. Hurry!"

Alistair was never one to show emotion, so when even he looked panicked, Ursa knew there must be something serious wrong.

Jumping up, the young witch scampered to do as told, pulling the curtains shut and sitting beneath one of the windows. “Al,” he whispered. “What is it? What’s happening?”

Maybe bc his face is very symmetrical in this one? The glow is not intense but soft like a candle flame? @offxthebeatenpath ------ Jack tried covering his ears with his hands, a pillow.. but there was still /noise/. The mechanical monstrosities outside would never cease, and it seemed even the word 'peace' had lost its meaning. "...How do you /think/ in this? Has peace and quiet gone extinct as the centuries passed?"

Jack sat with Aidan, bouncing the boy on his knee while he tried to eat a cookie despite the jerking motion. “You ready to go over to your uncles’?” he asked. 

They had arranged for Jacob and Seth to take the kids while Jack and Tessa had a day for themselves. Needless to say, Jack was very eager for it.
