Solitude was nice enough for a human city, he supposed.  He could see a little too much sky to be entirely comfortable walking the streets at sunset.  Even with the Mortal’s Mask illusion in place, the dying sunlight was a tad too bright in places.  However, as the shadows grew longer and men came out to light the lamps in the streets, the dwemer noticed how men and mer alike began fidgeting, hurriedly collecting whatever belongings they had or packing up their stalls for the night as though anticipating something to happen once the sun had fully set.

In the interests of fitting in, Aerendac didn’t even question it.  He just followed the mortals’ lead and ducked into the Winking Skeever where he’d taken rooms for the week he was to be in Haafingar... Solitude... whatever.  He checked his illusion spell in a mirror and, satisfied that it was still in place and hadn’t started fading yet, settled down in his usual isolated corner table with some treatise on Chimeri enchanting practices as described by the Telvanni master wizards and his notebook in case he came across anything relevant.

He could feel the presence of another however.  Confound it all, the dwemer sighed, not even looking up from his book.  “I am not seeking company or conversation, thank you.”

Gods damned thing, a few silent curses were muttered as Herryk continued to mess with the pile of wood and the two rocks that he had on hand. This shouldn’t happen to him! He had been able to live on his own while traveling in the wild for long enough that it shouldn’t be this hard to start a damned fire, this should be second instinct by now. After a few failed attempts to create anything but smoke, magicka was summoned in his palms to blast out a bit of fire onto the wood. There, a nice fire without having to deal with those stupid things, hopefully nobody noticed that embarrassing display.

♻ Any advice on improving Tumblr RP experience?My best tip is, you do you. If you just want to type with basic text, no bolding, no italicizing, no small text, do it. If formatting, small text, and icons are your thing, do it. Whatever is your comfort level, and whatever is easiest for you, do it. You don’t gotta be all fancy to be a good rper, aesthetic isn’t all there is to this. At the end of the day, we’re all playing pretend on the Internet.

⚌ Who inspires you?So many people inspire me, it’s too hard to list them all. My favourite author is Stephen King, best horror grandpa. And Elizabeth Schyuler is a historical figure that motivates me in ways I can’t describe. One of my friends has three kids, only ones her own, and she’s going back to her own. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg for inspiration, if I keep going we’ll be here aaaaalllll day.

♦ How has roleplaying on Tumblr improved since you started out?Well, I’ve only been rping on tumblr the last year, and I was mainly in another fandom so I can’t really see as to how it changed for the better. Having more people to interact with is amazing though, I love having a wide variety of characters and people to interact with. For sure a change for the good for me, I like having a lot do.
