As I am now dissecting the character names for my fic, I've stumbled onto something interesting.

Derived from Anglo-Saxon Ēadweard, the name Edward is composed of ēad meaning "prosperous, fortune" and weard "guardian, protector".

Which leads me to a nice little thought that in OFMD Edward was a rather prosperous pirate captain and, in the end, his mother's protector.

What I would like from season 2 of OFMD is an Ace pirate. Idk how, but I think it’d be cool.

So uhhhh....are we gonna ignore the fact that Stede Bonnet is low-key Moana and Blackbeard would be Maui?

(Not saying the original two in a romantic setting per se, but simply saying Moana fits Stede and Maui fits Blackbeard....)

okay but consider this. stede goes back to ed and is like ‘so hey i’m back :)’ and ed thunderously goes on a speech on the lines of, ‘do you think you can just show up like this and say i’m back and everything is gonna be alright just like that?’ but like. dark. powerful. shakespearean. a long, angsty, emotional monologue. stede’s face is contrite and sorrowful. eventually ed is like. uh?? do you think you can just do this?? i mean, well, yeah ¯\_(◉ ε ◉)_/¯

Another idea for a fic:

Telling the background story of Stede, Ed and Izzy at various stages of their lives (I was thinking like circumstances of their birth, then 10 years old, 15 years old, 30 years old or something), showing their families, their everyday lives, dreams and hopes for the future, to kind of compare and explore the three of them. With a rather big dose of traumatic events that shaped all of them into who they are, but also with some happy moments.

What do you think, oh great fandom? To write or not to write?
