eating alone/closed
@ofnara continued here
Shepard looked at the quarian with a faint smile on her eyes. “Well I am glad to find you here. “ She sat next to the quarian with her own plate and drink and placed them on the table. “If lonely isn’t what you are here...then what...just avoiding the crowds? “She could understand that, after participating so many parties, all wanting to see the first human spectre and even if she was open and liked that it was restraining.
@ofnara
People said that quarians were thieves, along with a host of other stereotypes. Tavi had lived down in the Wards long enough to know that, for the most part, that was complete bullshit. Now the people around Quarians, quite a few of them were thieves.
This lurking human for instance, clearly looking for an opportunity to snatch a credit chit from the quarian in front of him. There were a dozen reasons to ignore the whole scene but Tavi couldn’t help but step forward anyway - right into the would be thief to send him stumbling to the side, nearly into the quarian actually but being bumped was probably better than being pickpocketed. “Oop... sorry. Wasn’t watching where I was goin’.”
@ofnara liked for a starter from Seris.
The tall, reptile like being wandered quietly, tail swishing somewhat as it moved. It knew this universe somewhat, mostly from word of mouth. Its companions had called it Citadel space, the armoured one had held this place in particular disdain. Seris meanwhile failed to see what was wrong with it, aside from a few confused looks from citizens.
One such citizen, happened to get bumped by Seris tail, causing the reptilian being to start slightly. The tall creature turned, looking the masked figure up and down briefly, before facing them and bowing its head slightly. “My apologies.” It offered respectfully. “I did not mean to catch you. I trust you are not hurt?”

Just another day cruising the galaxy. Taking names, kicking ass, and trying raise Reaper awareness. You know, the daily life of one Commander Shepard... One who’s eating a meal off-board for once, loving the Normandy, but needing to see something more than the silver walls. She needed life and noise... Being left to her thoughts on that ship would drive her crazy, it would.
So blankly stare off at the people living their lives, blissfully unaware... Taking a bite of a sandwich Caroline only half-tasted, and realizing far too late that she’d been “staring” at a familiar-looking quarian for who knows how long. That’s what she gets for being distracted, though, she guesses.
A male. Fairly familiar, though she can’t place where she’s met him, and he seems to be looking back at her by now. While anyone else might’ve politely averted their gaze, Caroline holds onto it. This may have started by accident, but it’ll end on purpose. And she’s not going to be the losing party.

“No, I get that.”
Kaidan crosses his arms, posture loose and relaxed, and nods along as Veetor speaks. He hadn’t been there when they recovered the Quarian from Freedom’s Progress, but he’s seen enough warzones -- and dealt with the Collectors himself on Horizon -- to know that it couldn’t have been an easy experience.
Hell, he’s a seasoned military man and it still sends a chill down his spine when he thinks of Horizon and what would have happened if Shepard hadn’t shown.
“It’s smart to wait until you’re ready. Not a lot of people have the self awareness to hit the brakes like that.” And then there are some people who don’t have the option to, but he doesn’t say so. Veetor’s circumstances allow him to take the time to recover; no point in comparing them to anyone else’s.
