 Still with a wave of his hand he’s healing her, because he could only be scolding towards her for so long. He would be a hypocrite if he continued, as he sometimes did the same thing. “There, that better?”

Surely you wouldn’t be slacking, now would you?” Kaeya smirked and tilted his head, hand on his hip and radiating his usual aura of amusement. Sure, he knew that he was one to talk considering his reputation in the eyes of the red-clothed pyro user, but that just made teasing the other about it more fun. “Tsk tsk. ... Venti listened. That was really all he could do, right? Yeah. He couldn’t do much. This was all he could do, he was bad at giving advice, or helping in any way. So all he does, is stay silent, listen to her talk. When she finishes, with that sad laugh, he plays with his hands awkwardly, laughing.. in hopes of comfort or lifting the spirit, slender fingers wandering over to his Lyre, gently stroking along the wood of it.

In front of them lie the mess of a concoction that Venti would call a ‘cake’, but others would argue that that was an insult to cakes everywhere. Even Venti appeared to be put off from the abomination of eggs, apples, flour and milk that he had shuffled together, as if that was all a cake was (and why the apples?) and that it was a reasonable way to make cake.

How has someone who’s been around this long not know the ingredients for cake?

Although he asked the question aloud, he knew the answer, realistically. What was he supposed to do, throw it back in the oven? ...He couldn’t, right?

     Barbatos grant him strength. After being witness to half a dozen children wearing silly outfits and excitedly going up to merchants and passersby for treats in spite of the cloudy, chilly weather, all bets are off as to whether he’ll manage to remain unaffected by citizen enthusiasm. Though he most certainly told himself he’d treat this like any other day ( bar the exclusive sales prepared at the tavern for the occasion), the festivities are contagious, and Amber’s sudden appearance and offer doesn’t help. At least she’s not a stranger...

     He sighs. “Why not,” is the detached answer he settles for, picking one of the cookies from her provision. The pumpkin scent hits him before he can even take a bite. So, Amber can bake. Duly noted. “I take it Favonius gave you some time off for the holiday.” Diluc speak for, these are very good, you must have spent some time preparing them.
