some of y’all will see the hero/ a beloved character that is always depicted with pale white skin, able bodied, vaguely small nose, skinny, cis gendered, etc etc and when fan content gives them features outside of those lines you’re like “wow is this?? Unappealing and undesirable?? And merits an ugly comment revealing my own biases about these features that I refuse to question?? 🧐” and then not realize how always seeing a certain narrative on these bodies affects your subconscious and anyway! Exhausting to watch hope y’all confront that 🔜

Title: Jane Foster Conquers the Martians

Jane and Darcy fall through a portal to the DC universe, but they miss Earth by several (magnitudes of) miles. Darcy, on learning of the white vs. green martian debate, is incensed and throws herself wholeheartedly into combating racism, her mouth (and loud thoughts) quickly getting her in deeper waters than she can safely swim. Jane wades in and, with the quick repurposing of a few portal devices into a lazer rifle, accidentally takes over a province. And then there’s a skirmish and her attempt at diplomatic talks ends in the defeat of a nearby warlord. Basically, Darcy talks her way into trouble, Jane blasts her out of it, and in the process accidentally takes over Mars.
