This song reminds my so much of the trio of Hoenir (Soldier), Lodur/ Loki (Poet) and Odin (King/ Ruler).

In my version of the myths for the story I’m currently writing, at the beginning there were three brothers: Odin, Hoenir and Lodur, the youngest of them. 

Together, among other things, they created the first humans from the wood Lodur noticed washed up on the beach.

Sadly, some time after that, Lodur tragically died. His passing created a rift between the remaining brothers. Odin was especially affected and blamed himself for his little brother’s death.

Many years have passed and a lot happened in the meantime, when Odin met a young Fire Giant named Loki. His mischievousness and youthful energy reminded Odin so much of Lodur, he wanted to have him close.

That’s how they became blood brothers.

I based this idea on the theory that Lodur was another name of Loki.
