I find myself going "Oh Din." Alot this season. Specifically tonight when he just started taunting Battle Droids.
Random thought but I wholeheartedly believe that if Din ever hears you telling Grogu that you enjoy watching him playing/cuddling/sitting with his baba, he’d do it more often because he thinks he’s giving you some alone/resting time and because he’s fucking clueless and doesn’t realize that it’s actually a turn-on for you to watch him be a daddy.
so din’s strategy here is the time honored. tried and true way to not die in video games. hit the big bad and run away.
i can hear his health meter refilling from here
*standing dramatically at the edge of a cliff*
Din: You know if I had mean friends, I’d probably be pushed off this cliff by now
Fennec: We already are mean

Too bad that terminal only wanted a face scan and not a full-body scan! 🤭🤭🤭
You run across an old flame in a cantina who proceeds to flirt with you, maybe even get a little more touchy feely than you and Din would like. Cue Din getting jealous and stepping in, and maybe since bar fight!Din is cannon he gets himself into a scuffle standing up for his riduur?? You’re all his and he’ll make sure the creep knows it!!
You didn’t realize that this is the planet where Din had stopped. You thought you recognized it, but it’s been a very long time. It’s a planet you stopped visiting, wanting to leave and start things fresh—right where Din found you. But then, you heard their voice, and chills instantly ran up your spine. Not them. Not here.
“Time has done you well,” his voice says, nearly slimy as you feel a hand on the small of your back. You slap it away from where you’ve been standing at the bar, waiting for Din to receive a new commission. He’s a human you never wanted to see again, his eyes almost toxic as you try to avoid them as best as you can.
“I’m not interested,” you mutter, leaning both your elbows against the bar again.
“I wasn’t asking,” he remarks, sliding next to you so that his arm’s pressed up against you. “I was simply...” he trails off, looking you up and down before speaking again, “observing.”
“Well, what you’ve observing is taken,” you mutter, going back to nursing your drink and putting space between you and him.
“Really?” He chuckles, looking around before looking to you again. “Because it doesn’t seem like anyone’s around.” His hand begins to dance along the small of your back again, and a hold he’s gained on your arm with his other hand prevents you from doing anything about it. “And don’t you ever find yourself missing what we had?”
“Never.” Your voice is a practical growl as you muster all your strength not to fight him off yourself.
But someone else is ready to do that for you. You see Din’s shadow and turn your head to watch as he fiercely grabs the man’s wrist, removing his hand from your back and looking down at him with a threatening tilt to his helmet. “Is there something I can help you with?” Din questions him, fierce and intimidating as ever.
“Oh, you’ve got a bodyguard, don’t you?” the man taunts at you, laughing as he releases your arm and tries to take a step back.
“No. She could beat the shit out of you.” Din curls his free fist at his side. “But I’d much rather do it myself.” With that, Din swings at his new opponent, instantly causing him to hit the bar first and then the floor second. You know Din’s ready to go in for more despite the fact the man’s already trying to scurry away, so you hold Din back by reaching for his arm.
“Riduur, please. It’s alright.” Din huffs at your words, but nevertheless he leaves with you, letting you lead the way before anything can escalate. You raise an eyebrow at him. “Din, was that necessary?”
“He was touching you, cyare. It wasn’t close to enough for what he deserved, but I suppose it was satisfactory.”
You scoff, biting back a smile as you shake your head and look at him. “And your commission?”
Din shrugs. “I saw what was happening and decided to choose a different planet.”
You laugh, walking alongside him again as you head back to the Crest. “Well, thank you.”
“You don’t have to thank me.” Din looks at you seriously through his visor. “I know you’d do anything to protect me. I’m only doing my duty as your riduur.”
“And you’re very right,” you agree, smiling as you reach for his hand and keep walking to your temporary home together.
I honestly doubt Mando even remembers IG-11 taking his helmet off. Dude was straight up concussed and having problems following conversation.
