Like michael's life could have been so much different, but he decided to avenge his father and stand up for his family. And that scene where he asks his mom if it's possible to lose family while you are fighting for them and his mom says you can never lose family, michael says "times are changing" and it breaks my heart because michael realizes not even his father was in such a big mess.
(cont.) Also can you imagine the amount of anxiety and apprehension in michael's life. Like you would think it's not possible for every person in your life to fuck you up but well, IT IS FUCKING POSSIBLE. That scene when he overhears that fredo and ola know each other, at the very end of the scene when he just covers his eyes and everyone keeps laughing and drinking and michael's world is falling apart and all he can do is cover his fucking eyes.
oh..michael michael michael.....by the end of part two it really does seem like everything has been scraped out of his doesn’t it, either by his own hands or his family’s and hes just so fucking alone and on the one hand im like “YOU JUST MURDERED YOUR BROTHER AND HAVE BEEN PUSHING EVERYONE AWAY ASSHOLE” and then on the other hand im just clutching my ben and jerry’s and fucking crying into my pillow so. god honestly ask me about any of the corleone kids in this movie and i could just give you a comprehensive itemized list of reasons i havent been able to move on.
