How am I supposed to get over Luffy being told they will never be safe as long as Robin is with them, because no matter where she goes, everyone will persecute them, and his awnser is: it is worth it. She is worth it. Luffy fought enemies for Zoro, for Sanji, for Usopp, for Nami, for Chopper, for Vivi, and for countless strangers, and it is all the same to him because he simply thinks good people are worth fighting for. He thinks the friends he chooses are worth fighting every obstacle possible. So be it a warlord or a marine, or a feared pirate or a god.
Luffy really was told: this superpower that rules the world and the seas, and shapes in one way or another the lives of every single living being in the world, that is my enemy, and therefore, the entire world is my enemy.
And Luffy responded, "Then the entire world is my enemy too. Then I declare war on the entire world."
Oh Luffy. What a power. What a power to love so deeply, so devastatingly, so absolutely. Where love is ingrained into every breath you take, rules over every bone of your morality, and into every decision you make. Where even your selfish desires, your temper tantrums, your fears and rage and violence, are all in the service of love.
