After Gihun gets divorced he moves back in with his mother. She’s so worried about him since omega’s aren’t allowed to work and are forced to rely on alphas. With Gihuns age, she worries he’ll never find one.
But, she’s faced with the opposite problem- too many alphas want her son!
First is Sangwoo, Gihuns childhood friend that is now extremely successful. To Sangwoo, this is his second chance since he thought he wasn’t good enough for Gihun when they were younger.
Then there’s Inho, a respected policeman who always seems to be leaving courting gifts at Malsoon’s door.
Then there’s Junho another policeman. Much to the annoyance of his brother, the young man also seems charmed by Gihun.
But there’s… another one. A handsome, well dressed alpha who’s… incredibly creepy (The Salesman). He’s more of a stalker than anything else. He leaves creepy notes in their house addressed to Gihun and has stolen multiple articles of clothing. Malsoon has had to chase him away and call the police on him multiple times.
OMG YESSS!!!
Malsoon being so worried when Eunji and Gihun divorce! Now Gihun moves back in with her and she’s so worried! She knows omegas can’t work so he has to rely on her but she’s getting older! Who is going to take care of him when she’s gone? Who is going to want a divorced omega who is creeping up on menopause?
A LOT of alphas, it turns out.
No sooner had Gihun moved in that Sangwoo swoops in and asks Malsoon if he can court Gihun. He tells her he’s very successful now and he could take care of her son. Malsoon knew that Sangwoo loves Gihun before hand but they never got together so she tells him she’ll think about it.
But the next day, a police officer shows up with roses, also asking to court Gihun, saying that hes been watching Gihun for weeks and he’s so kind and beautiful. He tells Malsoon hes a detective with an amazing record and that he would cherish Gihun forever.
Hours later, ANOTHER police officer comes in, this one younger, saying that he’s been watching Gihun and hes fallen in love with him. Before malsoon can even ask how he met Gihun the cop from earlier comes by and tells the younger one, Junho, that he saw Gihun first and he’s the oldest brother. They start arguing at the door so Malsoon just closes it.
However, the worst one is a well dressed alpha who not only leaves expensive gifts at their door but also leaves odd, creepy notes, describing what he’s like to do to Gihun and how he’d love to keep Gihun “full”.
Malsoon has also noticed SEVERAL of Gihun’s clothes disappearing and one day, catches that creepy alpha snatching her son’s underwear before running off so now she has to call the cops—and of course, it’s the two brothers who want to court Gihun who come and fawn all over her son and soon enough, Sangwoo comes by too to comfort Gihun and…
And Malsoon thinks that she was wrong. Very wrong.
It’s not that Gihun is too old—the real problem is that Gihun has TOO MANY SUITORS and she doesn’t know what to do!
Here's some headcanons on Sang-woo and Gi-hun's married life together ❤️ 🥂💍👨❤️👨
Sang-woo would have a photo of Gi-hun and his daughter as a lockscreen to remind himself of his family when he's working the long hours. It makes him strive better to create a good life for them.
Gi-hun likes to send texts to Sang-woo throughout the day to say he's thinking about him and asking him if he ate or making sure he's hydrated, etc.. He knows how depressed Sang-woo gets with work and wants to remind him how loved he is.
Ga-yeong calls Sang-woo's mother as one of her grandmothers, and she likes helping her at her store and going shopping trips with Oh mal-sun. They both be fussing over her and giving her treats while her dads are working.
Gi-hun runs a successful restaurant chain with help from his husband, who does the accounting and making sure Gi-hun and Jung-bae stay on track with their business as they easily distract each other from their duties easily.
Ali is Sang-woo's best friend who works at the restaurant as one of the chefs in the kitchen. When Sang-woo is there, they take a break and share the dish that Ali has made. They catch up on what's going on with their lives and share pictures of their families to each other.
Sae-byeok works at the restaurant with ji-yeong as wait staff. Her brother, cheol, does his homework with Ga-yeong while she works. She enjoys listening to Gi-hun's stories and annoys Sang-woo as much as possible. Her favourite nickname for him is old man as it gets on his nerves. Ji-yeong is her girlfriend, and they go on dates while Gi-hun and Sang-woo babysit her little brother.
Okay I had the most depressing thought of after the 33rd Squid Game, that Gihun calls Sangwoos cellphone number over and over again just to not forget his voice.
Just imagine the calls Gihun would make.
Some calls are full of obscenities and rage.
Others are tearful as Gihun begs Sangwoo over and over to answer one question: why??
The most horrifying, tearjerker are the calls that begin with above mentioned rage and end in Gihun breaking down.
Now Gihun is probably doing the same to his mom’s phone. And now of season 2, he will do the same thing and call Jungbae's cell.
All those calls so hopefully that maybe, the next call will be answered.
