Mrs. Cho was finishing up her day at her store when out of nowhere Gihun came up to her with a crazed panicked look in his eyes. She was surprised to see Gihun, he went missing a year ago, presumably running away from his debts. But no, Gihun says he was attic wife kidnapped and escaped just a few hours ago. It took a bit to believe him and that it's not a story he cooked up. When she insists he go to the police Gihun laughed bitterly "I can't go to the police, he is the police!" When asked about his family she breaks the news to him. His mother? Dead. Daughter? Moved to America. No she doesn’t have their contact info. Sangwoo is not picking up. Resigned, Gihun says Inho is going to find him no matter what and take him back. Sits down to join her for dinner and asks if she have cigarettes cause Inho refuses to buy him any.

Mrs. Cho had just finished closing up her shop when a man almost ran into her. She was shocked when she realized that it was Gihun. He was dressed in rather nice, if somewhat tight clothing. Before she could ask where he’s been and why he’s been gone for over a year, Gihun immediately tells her that he was kidnapped and he just managed to run away from the his kidnapper. He tells her he’s been forced to play the role of a wife for a man who can’t take no for an answer.
Mrs. Cho doesn’t believe him at first, thinking that Gihun had just been running away from his troubles and debts. But then she really looked at him. At how pale he was. At the bruises littered around his neck and wrists and the way he kept flinching when a car drove past.
She invites him back to her apartment and they drink tea. Gihun asks about his mom and daughter Mrs. Cho shakes her head and tells Gihun that his mother died not long after he disappeared and that Gayeong is living in America with her mother.
Gihun cries and pulls at his hair, saying he can’t believe that Inho did this to him and that he just wants to see his mother and daughter again.
Mrs. Cho hugs him and tells him that he should really go to the police but Gihun shakes his head and laughs, telling her that Inho IS the police and no one would ever DARE go against him.
Worried, Mrs Cho calls her son, telling Gihun that maybe Sangwoo can help them but her son doesn’t pick up the phone. Gihun goes limp in the chair and laughs again, telling Mrs Cho that Inho probably already knows he’s gone and who was he kidding? Inho will find him and bring him home. He’s never going to escape him. He’s never gonna be free again.
Not knowing what to do, Mrs Cho cooks dinner for both of them and they eat silently. Gihun asks if she has any cigarettes when they’re done, because Inho won’t let him smoke. She finds some that Sangwoo left and with a hug, Gihun tells her goodbye and to take care of herself.
Mrs Cho watches Gihun outside her window. She watches him smoke and then, she watches as a black car pulls up next to him. Watches a man get out of the car, look around the neighborhood and practically shove Gihun into the passenger seat, ignoring Gihun’s shouts before getting back into the drivers seat and peeling away.
I want to write the “They’re lesbians Harold” fic for Min-Jung and Mrs Cho, but I wouldn’t even begin to know enough about Korean culture to be able to do it properly so I guess I’m saying I want someone else to write it for me
