Watching some clips from LMK season 5 and just now realised that when Macaque 'seperates' Nine from the chaos, Nine says "I will not let you take this from HIM [MK]". Like… huh!?!
My brain always auto-completed the sentence and I heard "[…] take this from ME" because that‘s the usual shtick. But LMK villains keep on just being built different 💅

Like, Nine wanted more for MK than the sacrifice. He gave MK the life he has (which is the sort of role I thought was going to go to Wukong, but nevertheless I am so glad it's here). I desperately need to know more of what is up with that guy. His relationship with Nuwa reminds me of both Macaque and Azure's respecitve dynamics with Wukong. The whole "I still came back! I'm done trying to be the hero" thing proves to me that compared to our previous antagonists, Nine is done trying to fix the world. He doesn't think it can be saved, he just wants to be free—him and whatevers left. Which makes sense, considering he's antithical to Nuwa and used Azure, you know. Like his goal was just "make it to the chaos", and I want to know what's there for him. What brought meaning to him out there.

Joined them on missions. Mourns both their losses, and later more or less adopts Snare. Tries to bring Rahbit back into the light. Owner of Suwsi.

His ship, the Slipstream, is his tool to smuggle enemies of the empire into the outer rims. On one such occasion, he's attacked by Glee and her stormtroopers, but gains sympathy for her and together, they free her vode. He falls for her, eventually.
