GEN, I STARTED SOUTHLAND!!! Omg, S1 Sammy is such a little cherub with his tummy and all! Also (spoilers are totally okay!) is Sammy a good guy all the way through? I'm looking forward to seeing more of him. I've only just finished S1E4! (Side note: Tammy is driving both Sammy and me crazy 😂)

Sammy is a good guy. He makes a LOT of mistakes and he struggles with the guilt of some of those mistakes very profoundly. Sammy is such a fascinating character to watch develop over the course of the show. Where he starts off and where we see him last. Shawn does such an amazing job shaping Sammy that, like so many of Shawn's characters, Sammy stays with you long after the show is over. You're going to see Sammy go through a lot of heartbreak. Some of the most heartbreaking scenes in the entire show involve Sammy. They leave both Sammy and the audience devasted. I really can't wait for you to watch his journey because it's a such a compelling one.
As for Tammi? She... never really goes away. They will always fight and always fight over the phone. That relationship is the most annoying part of the entire show. I still can't stand Tammi. Spoilers: It's not said in the show but in a deleted scene Sammy tells Sal that he and Tammi have been together since they were 16 years old. So that relationship never goes away even though they don't stay together. She is very much a part of Sammy's life for the entire show and she just gets worse. Brace yourself for that.
