Listening to their banter, its obvious that Cole likes Sera. But she is terrified of him, so she lashes out in anger (which is a perfectly normal reaction, but one you're only allowed to have if you're a male character).
Sera and Cole do have an interesting relationship and one that shows a lot of growth on Sera’s part. People don’t listen to her, I mean really listen to what she says and how she says it. In Redcliffe she says something about the common folk rarely ever seeing mages or magic, and that the templar mage war terrified them.
Sera is among these people. I’m sure she’s heard of magic and maybe witnessed a few things, but knows barely anything about it. Just listen to how she talks about the fade and magic in general. She doesn't understand it. Her fear is a large example of that. So as you said, she lashes out at Cole. Most of the companions think he’s a demon, demons, for the most part are evil, so of course she’s going to be wary of him.
You can like whomever you want to like, and dislike whomever you want but I’m sick and tired of this stupid double standard. Male characters can murder hundreds of people, be a complete asshole to their love interests, shit all over an entire culture of people, but no one says anything. Or of they do it’s often excused with a ‘oh that’s just how the character is written/he had no choice’.
Sera makes a few negative comments about Cole, and says some ignorant things about the Dalish, even breaks up with a Dalish inquisitor (out of fear and denial about Mythal) and she’s the most evil character in fandom. Lmao get out of here.
