Top 10 Favorite Characters (In Absolutely No Order)
Jacob Kowalski (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) - had my heart from the moment he thought there was a guy sitting next to him competing for exact same thing he wanted to do, shrugged, and sincerely offered a “may the best man win”
Peter Venkman (Ghostbusters, all versions) - I have no defense for this character and I refuse to formulate one. He’s kind of terrible and I love him
Evelyn Carnahan (The Mummy, 1999) - brave but is allowed to show fear, wickedly intelligent yet also kinda started a tiny apocalypse, gets an awesome choreographed fight in the sequel; I have been in love with Evelyn Carnahan since I was six years old
Tony Stark (MCU, mostly) - flawed, not always right, but always, always trying to do better and to be better for the people he cares about
Tiffany Aching (Discworld) - I was the same age as Tiffany when I read the book the first time and I have never wanted to be like a character so badly as I did then, and I don’t think I’ve ever really stopped wanting to be at least a little like her, to be honest
The Bard (Wandersong) - sunshine character who has a depressive episode mid-game? Person who saves the world with kindness? Someone who is special because they chose to do the hard thing, rather than being chosen for it? Sign me the fuck up
John Egbert (Homestuck) - to be honest, I’m not entirely sure what it is about his character I jive with, but he was one of my favorites from the beginning
Sokka (Avatar: The Last Airbender) - I love unconventionally intelligent characters, characters who are underestimated but can wreck you, characters who are a bit arrogant but are willing to admit to and learn from their mistakes, and I love this guy
Dipper Pines (Gravity Falls) - so much enthusiasm and curiosity, trying so hard to find His Thing, special interest in the supernatural. I feel
Ford Pines (Gravity Falls) - look I watched the episode where his backstory is revealed and he settles in Gravity Falls and starts collecting and documenting Weird Shit, and I immediately declared “That. That’s what I want to do with my life” and then never looked back. I also love his character development or whatever
