What you said about Elton, I completely agree. I think it has to do with the fact that when he met John, he was a huge fan who admired his work, so he has this concept of John Lennon the myth, the legendary musician... On the other hand, Paul knew John way before fame, when they were both just teenagers trying to write good songs and be successful together. So he knows John more intimately, in a very personal type of way. I think that’s why their opinions about him are so different.
Yes! I totally agree, and I also think it was a nice contrast to interview both of them since they have differents perspectives of who John was. Honesty, how I’m more into John the person than John Lennon the legend, I enjoyed Paul’s interview waaaay more, but there were parts of Elton’s that i find really sweet and fun
I just didn’t like how they kept feding these myths that are really easy to fact check, but oh well, Sean still has to kept the Lennon State narrative going on i guess
