it was 64 years ago today! Paul McCartney (19) and John Lennon (20) begin their hitchhiking trip to Spain for the latter’s 21st birthday.

stopping in Paris, the pair decided halt their journey. they ended up spending the entire week in the city, taking photographs, even getting the iconic Beatles haircut

the trip inspired McCartney to pen the song Cafe On The Left Bank, released on the 1978 Wings album London Town

I love, LOVE this interaction between Nick and Elle in Paris:
