Viktor could feel his heart beat fast at waiting for the man’s reaction. He half expected to be turned down and scoffed at. And he would have had to try another person. But this man reacted… kindly. He even asked about how it worked.

Which made Viktor perk up instantly.

 He held up a second version of his little invention. This had been the prototype. Looked about the same, but... rougher, not as nice and smooth as what the man held in hand.

“It’s like a whistle.”, he started to explain and held the little coin-shaped thing onto his lips, blowing into it. It made a faint clear whistle.

“When the air is good enough, it will make a sound. But if the air going through it, is too bad to breathe for long, it will be silent.”, he explained with a shy grin. He was proud of his idea, and how he had managed to make many little parts in this whistle work together.
