I won an Award!

Story time!

When I was 15 I randomly decided to teach myself how to do facepaint/body painting and sfx makeup. fast forward 3 years and I became a cosplayer and now a photographer.

 Back in April I announced my retirement of cosplay and so many people have tried to get me to come back but it was hard for me. I was in a very dark place battling my depression, being in an unhappy relationship, dealing with spirituality and sexuality, as well as a bunch of other stuff. I started seeing a therapist and now I feel like i'm at a better place now then i was when I quit and I feel like i can start doing it again. 

Saturday was my debut of me going back into cosplay. I worked really hard on my cosplay and my paint for Mettaton. I decided to enter the contest with my friend,I went into prejudging and talked about the process of me making the outfit and they started talking about my makeup and were shocked at the brand I use, AND THEY SAID I HAD THE BEST MAKEUP THEY SAW AT THE CON! Okay now contest time, I was super nervous cause I don’t enter contests for actual cons because I never feel like i’m worthy for it but I convinced my friend cause this was my return to this hobby and I worked really hard on my outfit. After everyone walked on stage i was sitting with my friend waiting to hear the results. In my head i kept thinking that they were going to win an award and again I wouldn’t get anything. Then the judges announced an ambition award and said my name, my jaw dropped so quick and I was in shock and almost cried. 

When they announced I won they talked about the outfit but then said that the brand of makeup I used is not commonly used for cosplayers because it is mainly used for kids parties cause you can't do much with it. It isn't made for that. But I had the skill to end up doing mettatons face and have detail onto it and they said that's hard to use it for stuff like that so the fact that i did was awesome.  I almost cried on stage, i was so happy :') I’m happy that I took that leap and cosplayed again and on top of that cosplayed the amazing Mettaton <3 I have so many ideas already and a list of cons. I look forward to the new creations I come up with ^^
