oh, i forgot to share: i received maybe the worst okcupid message ever composed today. unedited for your enjoyment:

Every now and again I'll stop by here in an admittedly desultory fashion and type a keyword and see what comes up. Perhaps as an involuntary reflex to counter the effects of this seemingly endless winter, I chose "keaton" this morning, whom I adore, and soon came across your profile, in which I found a good many other promising names as well. Regarding "unique": yes, if, as we do when we call something "unique", we set something outside the order of number, then numbers or quantities thereafter may no longer be applied without contradiction. (Which sounds terribly pedantic, I realize, but in person I would have delivered that disquisition in the manner of a suitably comic (but not histrionic) impersonation.) I recently saw The Third Man again, which I appreciated and enjoyed even more than the last time. Cassavetes, Kurosawa, Haneke, Lynch. But I like too like Ghostbuster (and recently discovered "The Man Who Knew Too Little"). I studied political philosophy in graduate school, with a peculiar emphasis or art and literary history. And there's music, of course. Our respective libraries would make for quite a cultural exchange, I expect. Gin, red wine, and gourmet food (by which I mean, ever so immodestly, my own, for I do like to cook and hate spending money on mediocre fare when I could just as well get the ingredients myself.....which is more fun, anyway.
