COSMIC REALM SQUID
by William Bao
Its face is a little beat up, its spine is a little broken but what a find for £1.
So Dagon's whole thing is being this god of the ocean sort of figure, right? So you look at Dagon and you think "Okay, so he's like the Aquaman of the Old Ones."
Except Cthulhu is the main Old One, and he's also themed around the ocean. It's like when Superman beat the Flash in a race. Fuck Dagon, I guess
another thing
saying that there was no other way for el's story to end when so much of this show was about hope and belief and surviving impossible odds and just. fighting for the life that you want and deserve, watching every other character get some version of that, or be on the road to that, all while she either has to be dead or can never contact them again is so fucked up
she didn't ask to have powers. she didn't ask to be locked away in a lab for most of her life. she didn't ask to have special blood. why is she punished for the things that were done to her?
she said 'i do not belong anywhere' and the duffers said 'exactly.'
and it's so cruel, having her and mike and then her and hopper talking about her potential future, knowing she never believed in it, was going to sacrifice herself, and they would never be part of whatever future she may have anyway
'it was always going to be like this' not if you didn't write it that way???? you set up an impossible situation and refused to find some way out of it
'they would always be after her' and maybe. we could have solved that over the course of the season and actually let her live the life she deserved, as said by hopper all the way back in s2
but no. kay's still out there, too. el should have killed her ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
fuck.
