Old Promises || neverparted
@neverparted
“You will have my youngest daughters hand to give to one of your sons once she is of age.” The goddess promised as thanks for having been allowed on midgard to see how humans lived, what plants and animals they had, it had been a very fruitful experience. The Allfather had agreed, and so, the deal was sealed.
Many years ago, Idun had given birth to a daughter, the anger Odin bestowed upon her was nothing compared to her husbands, Brage had been furious, almost close to banishing his wife and her child. In the end Idun had been allowed to stay, her child on the other hand, was not, the half mortal had to live on Midgard until she was of age to be wed. Odin had hoped Idun was to have another child, one he could wed to one of his sons, sadly, that did not happen. Idun married Tyr after Brage left her for her infidelity and the child, well.
“Elise, my darling.” The goddess cooed as her daughter walked out onto the rainbow coloured bridge. Tyr was standing behind her with the horses, giving a kind smile to his step daughter.
“It’s good to see you too Mother, Tyr.” Elise gave a small bow. “So, what is the occasion this time? I rarely get to see you unless there is a very important event of which you insist I attend.”
The gods were silent, Idun smiling a little awkwardly. “It’s a celebration in honour of one of the princes engagements. Now come, we will be staying with the royal family during the festivities. “

If he wasn’t happy to see the younger male, then this reunion would have taken a drastic turn and would end up with yelling and probably him actually leaving Genesis where he was standing. But any anger that he actually did hold faded away the longer he held the crimson, as he could feel his warmth, his energy, he could feel the other breathing meaning he was here and alive. Yet just feeling Gen’s head slump forward onto his shoulder and the arms returning around his body, this was far better then any dream as it was real and Genesis had returned to him as a happy smile showed. Just hearing him talk more, gods he could just listen to that voice all day and he would be satisfied, but he waited till the other was done as he spoke up, pressing a kiss to the top of the auburn tresses. “You are forgiven Gen, and you’re right. I should have been more mad, and I should have been doing something but I can’t…….I missed you so much.”
He smiled more as he sniffled a bit, not trying to get emotional as it were. “I specifically remember making a certain promise with you, did I not? If I was mad at you, then it’ll never be reached.”
Acceptance of his showing back up was enough, Genesis had convinced himself that would be enough. Only because he didn’t think he dare ask for more. Greed had gotten him little more than a row of graves with names etched upon them that were as familiar as home. He was trying, with every ripped up fiber of his being, to stamp out the selfish heart that had always lost him everything, but when those words spilled out.
You are forgiven
Old nature flared up, because monsters weren’t meant to be forgiven and the wave of sickness that pushed through him, was pushed back down with stubbornness. He was, by his very birth, a selfish, greedy creature. Who wanted, and took, and hurt, and he didn’t care.
When Masa said that he had been missed, he didn’t care. Didn’t care if he was horrid and undeserving of a single chance by anyone else in the world, because he had long since knew he wasn’t.
Genesis raised his hands, placing them on both sides of Masa’s face. “We did make a promise, didn’t we. After all this time. Do you still wish to keep it. A lot has changed, but I swear on my life, my feelings for you haven’t. I have wanted for you every night without you by my side.”

Keeping My Integrity
I have posted before about how I still have the ring my 3rd ex gave me because he asked that I not get rid of it when we broke up even though he didn’t want it back. It’s presence in it’s box in a box under my bed has bothered me for some time because it felt wrong to keep it after I was done grieving the relationship. But I promised, so what am I to do? I finally screwed up my courage and told him that I don’t want to keep it anymore. I asked if he wants it back or if it will be ok for me to break my promise and find it a new home...
I boxed it up and my dad is mailing it back to him next time he hits the post office.
