Communication Spell
This is one of the first spells I had ever written. I wanted a 'friend' to talk to me but wasn't sure how to approach them and this spell was my answer. I no longer feel this spell would work for me, I still feel like there is a lot to be learned from it especially since there are some problematic issues with it, at least for me. I am currently working on an updated communication spell and will be sharing that once it is done.
A more detailed explanation and my takeaways from this spell, check out my blog: https://musicandmagick.blogspot.com/
So I was burning off an old spell in the bath today and just as I bring it to a close and it's all calm and wavy the bloody fire alarm goes off and I nearly shit myself 😂
So I was having a rough time earlier (I'm sensitive to certain textures on my fingers when I'm stressed) and one thought was running through my head "get the yarn." So grabbing my yellow yarn, tape and scissors, I made 3 roughly equal length strands, and went to town. Braiding and willing my intent into the yarn and braid I quickly was able to come back (much quicker than normal) and get back to what I was doing, I was more focused and driven than I was before hand. I kinda feel magical
I see a lot of people talking about not giving spells and what not.
People have been saying they won't give spells simply because they believe that spells are more powerful when you make them yourself. While this is true, I would like to point out that many things of what people believe are from what other people have come up with. Quartz being a powerful crystal, would you not suggest to someone looking for a general crystal to hold power quartz? Simply because you didn't sit down however many years ago and was the first to say quartz is a powerful crystal. Same thing applies to spells. While making your own opening and closing of a circle make is powerful, does not mean that following someone else's ritual makes it weak.
I love old witchcraft. I wish I had books that are hundreds of dollars so I can see in the original print how people formed their spells. Simply put if a whole mass of people have been using a certain spell for generations and generations, that spell can be just as powerful if not more then one you create your own.
I think it is very important for someone to be able to create their own spells. But I don't think it's wrong to use someone else's work or study someone else's work. For example studying someone who is known for lets say contacting spirits. You can look at their spellwork practice some of their spells. Learn why they structure and why they use this or that. So you can build up on what you feel works for you, and understand and hold the power that is knowledge for yourself.
If you wanna learn your own spellwork it's important to study someone else's spell work. For example by just going on what you feel one could call on the power of Neptune or Poseidon for a love spell because they haven't done their research into other spellwork. They might not know that Venus and Aphrodite are probably better to call on for this kind of thing.
So instead of telling someone a specific spell that they ask. Try giving them a general guide line that works for you. What herbs, what crystals, what planets and time and what not.
