This is me in say 30 years. It's cool. If I can make it 30 more years with #ms I can own that. #oldapp lol #Shenanigans #tomfoolery (at Port Alberni, British Columbia) https://www.instagram.com/p/B3fw1BYHu-r/?igshid=1jnzidkhquy9z
Well… the Tumblr app sucks. At least, if you get it from Amazon. It hasn't been updated since 2014, so most of the features are completely outdated. Anybody else on the Amazon app?
Awesome audition Alex and nice little twist to the biography you did there! I like your headcanon of why he really left Carmel! With that said, please make your account, send it in and check out the new member checklist!
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
NAME, NICKNAME/ALIAS: Alex
AGE: 23
TIMEZONE: EST
ACTIVITY LEVEL: 6-7 I am very active on weekends, and weeknights! The weekdays are harder because of work and school, but I try my best to get on mobile.
HEADCANONS: Mike is incredibly shy, and it’s always been my head canon that he has a crush on Santana. He doesn’t know how to approach her, so he stays in the background but will appear if she needs a helping hand. Also, Mike’s parents will not be as accepting about his dream as they eventually were in the show. Mr. Chang is the actual reason Mike was replaced at Carmel, and they are going to start to point him towards what they think is a more realistic future. They will not at all support him which will require him to look at scholarships and make him quite unhappy at home when he finally decides to pursue his dream and happiness.
BIRTHDAY: February 14th!
BIOGRAPHY: Dancing has been Mike’s passion for as long as he can remember. His mother has told him that he’s moved to any rhythm he could find from the moment he could walk. Although it’s not something that his father supports, his mother was able to buy him some time to be happy. The deal that was decided between the parents when he was four was that they would support his “hobby” until it was time for him to focus on his future. They placed him in dance classes, and even ensured that Mike got into the high school with the best show choir in the state. For two years, everything had gone perfectly. Mike was the sweet, talented boy at his school. Everyone liked him, and their team continued to win competition after competition. It was like no one could touch them. However, all good things must come to an end. At the beginning of his junior year, things suspiciously got very bad for Mike. When he walked into his first Vocal Adrenaline practice of the year, there was a new guy taking center stage. Their coach wouldn’t even give the sweet boy a second glance. When he went home and informed his parents, they were incredibly understanding and suggested that he be transferred to William McKinley High School. The reasoning they gave their son was that they had only heard wonderful things about the school from Sunshine’s parents, but it was all a very well rehearsed lie. Mr. Chang was the very expensive reason for Michael’s unceremonious release from Vocal Adrenaline.
Now at William McKinley, Mike has a fresh start. With the help of his best friend, he learned the hierarchy along with the usual high school advice. The school was very different from Carmel, but he adjusted pretty well. The reputation of the show choir was the complete opposite from his old school, so he joined a group where he could win again while still using his dancing skills. The cheerios took a little getting used to, but he enjoyed the challenge of it all. Plus, what guy would complain about constantly being surrounded by beautiful girls? His parents are starting to harp on him much more about his grades and becoming suspiciously quiet whenever the topic of dance is brought up.
CHARACTER QUESTIONNAIRE. (This is simply to get a feel on how you will portray your character. Please answer in character.)
WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES AND INTERESTS? Well, I think everybody knows me as the guy that used to dance really well at Carmel, so there’s that, but I’m also like any other teenage guy. I like sports, girls, and the occasional video game.
HAVE YOU EVER BEEN A VICTIM OF THE RUMOR MILL AT SCHOOL? At first some people thought I was gay because I’m on the Cheerios, but that stopped after awhile. I think that’s it.
DO YOU KNOW TINA, SANTANA OR RACHEL? WHAT’S YOUR OPINION ON THEM? I know Santana from Cheerios, and she’s not as bad as I’ve heard. I mean, she was scary when she threatened me not to drop her the first day, but she’s been nice since. I’ve only heard the rumors about Tina and Rachel, but they seem cool.
WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER HIGH SCHOOL? Honestly, I haven’t really thought about it lately. It used to be Julliard in New York City or UCLA in California, but lately my parents have been acting really weird. All they talk about is Harvard, grades, and my transcript, so I don’t really know.
WRITING SAMPLE: Mike needed to get out. He loved his son and wanted to do everything for him, but he needed to get away for a little while and just breathe. Luckily Ms. Jennings was willing to watch Milo for an hour or two so he could just get an hour or two to himself. Mike hopped on the subway and went to the one place that he knew would provide him with clarity, Juliard’s dance studio. When he arrived, he put his headphones in his ears and pressed play on his iPod. Mike then began to do the one thing that was almost as simple to him as breathing; he danced. He danced as if it was the last time that he would be able to effortlessly pop, lock, and flow his body to the beats of a song. It made him remember how much he needed this, how he sacrificed everything once to do this. At the end of the song he stopped and dropped to his knees breathing heavily. The only difference now was that dance was not his priority anymore.
His cell phone rang pulling him out of his thoughts, and when he looked at the caller ID he brought a hand to his face. He couldn’t keep avoiding them without them becoming suspicious, so he answered, “Hello Mom, how are you?” Mike listened as his mother discussed all the trivial things occurring at home with enthusiasm before asking how he is doing. Mike of course knew the hidden question behind that. What she was really asking was how his auditions for dance were going. As much as he hated lying to his mother, he could not bear the disappointment in her voice if he told her about his son, and he could not even fathom his father’s reaction, so he lied. “I’m doing well mom. Auditions are hard, but I feel like I’ll get a break soon. I’ll keep you posted. I’m actually in the studio right now, so can I call you later?” After exchanging farewells with his mother and sending greetings to his father, Mike locked his phone and put it back in his pocket. Luckily, he was never a guy of many words, so the conversation didn’t seem suspicious, but he didn’t know how much longer he could do this on his own for. Unfortunately, he did not have much time to dwell on that. He never did. It was getting late, and he had a son to get back to. Things always had to keep moving.
ANYTHING ELSE? If you’d like another para sample, just ask! I’d be more than happy to write a new one!
