Apply more wine! That’s the only solution!

My favorite Austen film as well (and Zelah is my fave Jane as well)! Btw, I see that AR recorded an audio book of JE–now I have to track that down.
There are so many good Jane Austen adaptations out there, but this one is just so amazing. I adore Anne Elliot. Ohhh, that is good to know about the recording! FYI @educatedinyellow, in case audio books are your thing.

I'm so jealous! All we got was rain and a pathetic crust of ice this morning.
Come on up! We’re getting more snow tomorrow! I have a shovel with your name on it. :)

Here we got rain then ice. Had to chop all the ice at the bottom before I could shovel the snow at the top. Of course it's going to be close to 50 today. So fucking Sisyphus.
Oh, dealing with ice is the WORST. 50?? I mean, it’s good for the melting, but it’s hard to adjust to those extremes!

they're gorgeous
Thank you! (Like I had anything to do with it, heh.) I love their sweet faces.

I love torties (and calicoes) SO MUCH!
I do too!! I’ve never had a calico but I love how gorgeous they can be. Torties are so pretty and have quirky personalities, mine do anyway. I just love them so much!

I feel for you!
Thank you SO SO MUCH. I really appreciate it.
It's not easy...I keep repeating my internal mantra, "She's 88 years old. She's 88 years old. DO NOT GO NUCLEAR. REPEAT: DO NOT GO NUCLEAR! NO NUKES!" but I may snap by Friday.
Okay, on the elder (rocking chair) meme: how about 1, 7, and 17?
1 (how many jobs) answered here.
7 (color tv) answered at the end of this post bc I misunderstood the ask.
17 What’s the oldest article of clothing you still wear? A blue cardigan sweater that my mother originally knitted for my grandfather, probably in the mid1970s (he died in 1978). It’s my equivalent of Joan’s red sweater, often worn with sleepwear.
ask meme for folks over 30
first try at a mood board, as challenged by @oldgrimalkin.
These are images from my Elementary season one fic Dark and Deep. One each for parts 1-11 & one each for the 3 chapters of part 12. I almost never work with images in the writing process (I know many writers do) and found this quite difficult. I’m happy I tried, though, because I’d never previously noticed the fences in part 1 (which I imagined but never actually described as wrought iron) in conjunction with the lock Sherlock works on at the end.
Oldster (rocking chair) meme: 6 & 11, if you haven't already answered them?
6. When did you get your first cell phone? What was it like? (Did it have a screen? Could you text? Was it a brick or flip?)
My very first cell phone was.... crap, I’m actually having trouble remembering. I didn’t get one for the longest time. I literally remember thinking, there are payphones everywhere, why would I need a cell phone? Ha! Can’t find a working payphone now to save your life. The first cell phone I remember having was a sliding one, a Samsung, I think! It had a screen and could text. It was red and I loved it. But I remember my younger sister had one of the grey Nokia bricks!
11. How many places (towns, states, countries) have you lived in?
Surprisingly few! Four cities, all in California. But one of those cities was LA and I moved every year for six years there, so it feels like more. :)
