Some solid sun wukong references because I loved the tale Journey to the West. eastern folklore on primates is very interesting, far more so then big foot. haven't heard a monkey myth yet I didn’t like. When building worlds I love to draw inspiration from as many cultures as possible. makes some fun hand-waves.
My cannon Beast King of the illusive magical primates is female though, because a lot of old world monkeys are matriarchal; baboons are vicious no joke.....
