Been since 2019 last visit, so happy they survived Covid. Love the Classic Rock n Roll Mike plays, a master on the Flattop since 1976 . Talk about a valuable employee don't know many like him. Mid afternoon on a weekday only a few other customers, waitress knew everyone except us. Old School Cool Blue Plate Special change everyday, true old-school our grandparents grew up on. So cool 50 year's same owners packing the place with down home great food. Famous for the daily baked bread, biscuits n gravy and breakfast. Named on of metro Detroit Best Breakfast 2019 by WDIV viewers. Today's Blue Plate Special Spaghetti with Meat sauce and Garlic bread 4 bucks n change fantastic mega deal. She had the Pulled Pork sandwich and a bowl of Chili spot on delicious. I also ordered really great Salmon Patties with real Chunky Mashed Taters n Gravy some corn also only 8 bucks. Those Salmon Patties a pair of outstanding Flavor reminder of my childhood. Downriver Classic Diner 40 year's step back into time say 1970 style. Place so reminds me of those up north old school diners in small town Michigan. The owner looking to retire would make a great place for a young couple to get started. Open everyday 8am till 2pm can't find worker's just owner and daughter helping, wife helps on weekends. The struggle is real, they truly need your support. A master of the Flattop we've been a dozen times always faboulus. Great prices, food and service keeps us coming back along with many regulars. She Loves his Double Stuffed Gyro Pita and today National Onion Rings Day for the Win. Me a big breakfast 3 Eggs Sausage Bacon n Ham Filled the belly with Love. A unique treat is Bob's Famous Smoked Hot Sauce a Michigan family owned company. He also owns Iggy Pizza another Downriver Classic just next door. So Happy to visit Walter his son and granddaughters on Memorial Day 2022. Full house of Happy diner's 😊. We absolutely Love this Classic Downriver eating spot 😋. Damn Walter your a machine pushing 90 can out work 2 younger cooks. It's a pleasure to watch him work his magic on the Flattop. Found out prior to opening Sunrise he owned Vernor Coney Island in SW DETROIT corner of Clark, he sold it in the 70's. Spotless clean eating spot great prices n service for decades. Absolutely the very best Greek Gyro Feta Omelette. Got Chili, French Toast Delicious. She got the fantastic Bacon Double Cheeseburger a winner. Celebration of 50 year's this place reminds me of Beef Carver many antiques line the walls. Has 3 large dining area's each unique. Old School Cool the place and food will take you back in time. Two outstanding Omelette's we had, Pizza Omelette Stuffed with Cheese n Pepperoni with Sauce n more Cheese on top. Mega Stuffed Greek Gyro Feta Omelette had Cheese inside and outside Whoa going back for this one. Started with Deep Fried Mushrooms n Cauliflower bites we shared. She had a great Chicken Cobb Salad Wonderful. A great sirloin Burger topped with Swiss fresh Beef Burger with ton of Flavor. Only our 2nd visit with many more to come. Absolutely felt so good dining inside after a couple months. Just like dining in Grandma's kitchen old school chrome leg tables from the 50's. Great to gab with other customers in house showing support for this Lincoln Park Classic Diner. Ms Becca so Happy for this experience after all the dashboard dining. We spent over a hour taking it all in. She got the Famous Park Omelette n Bowl of Veggies Soup. We split a Double Cheeseburger, Fries n BLT . Operating as a restaurant since 1942 and in1965 a Greek family run eating spot classic homemade meals old school plates up hot fabulous breakfast and lunch. Named by CBS a top Breakfast spot in Dearborn. Opening in the wee hours of the morning at 4:30 am those truckers fill the place for a hot mega breakfast with piping hot coffee to get that cross country drive started. A mega sized parking lot for a dozen plus semi's and plenty for cars too. Today visit my all time favorite Greek Omelette filled with Gyro Feta Onion's Pepper's N Maters always get with Grits n great Rye Toast. She had a Double Patty Melt heavy Grilled Onion's. Daughter the big Breakfast Special all the Meat's 3Eggs Taters n Toast a mega deal. The interior is a throw back in time with a double u shaped counter and amazingly clean tables, booths and stools. The menu is a classic family style breakfast along with super American and Greek lunch specials, a little something for everyone. Another visit We had the chicken lunch along with Salisbury steak, mashed taters,corn and really tasty veggie soup. A true family run place by Pete who started working there at 4 years old for his dad. They pride themselves on super fast service inside or for take out,yes it's so fast is your in a hurry. Love this old school place and you will too. Just off the corner of I-94 and Wyoming be sure to stop in for a quick bite at fantastic prices.
