Fanfic Prompt:
So, a while ago I read a story where Percy was born as Leto’s third child—the younger brother of the twins. I actually liked it, BUT... hear me out: wouldn't it make way more sense if it were the other way around?
Percy as the firstborn of Leto and Poseidon!
Imagine him as a powerful Olympian god with massive domains, making his parents incredibly proud. In this version, Zeus sees that Leto bore his brother such a powerful heir and gets competitive. He wants his own "powerhouse" offspring because, let's be real, when war is coming, you want the strongest allies on your side. That jealousy (among other things) is what triggers the whole "chasing Leto" drama.
The rest goes down as we know: Queen Hera finds out, bans Leto from giving birth on solid ground, and sends Python after her. Poseidon, still head-over-heels for his former lover, raises Delos from the depths, and the myth plays out...
BUT BACK TO MY MAIN POINT.
Percy is born during a wild "hookup" between Poseidon and Leto during the First Titanomachy. Zeus isn't even the Supreme King yet (though the Cronides already look to him as a leader), and Poseidon doesn't rule the seas yet. Percy is basically the divine equivalent of a "teenage pregnancy" accident between two millennial gods who have no idea what they’re doing.
The "Birth" (or lack thereof)
Percy is born fully grown. We are skipping the baby phase entirely—it’s important for the plot, thanks! He just... appears from the union of these two, and they’re both standing there like "WTF?" because they accidentally created life and have no clue how to handle it.
Meanwhile, Percy is traumatized. He’s standing there like:
"Why is my dad naked? Why is this woman naked? Why are his hands on—OH OLYMPUS, PLEASE GET ME OUT OF HERE! HERA?? I GIVE YOU FULL PERMISSION TO WIPE MY MEMORY AGAIN, PLEASE!!!"
After the awkwardness settles, Leto and Poseidon start "examining" (read: smothering) their new "acquired baby" because he is breathtakingly handsome. Leto is relieved; she thought having a kid would be painful based on what her mother told her, but this was easy! She’s like, "Wow, is it always this effortless?"
Fates : she swears
So, Percy is stuck in the ancient past with no idea what to do, but he ends up helping his dad in the Titanomachy. Despite being a "newborn," he is a natural-born beast on the battlefield.
But here’s the kicker: Remember how I said he’s gorgeous?
Wouldn't it be hilarious if most of the allies the gods recruit only join because they’re completely simping for Percy?
Zeus: "Oh, Lady of Mysteries, I beg for your aid in this war against the Lord of Time! Your power would be a massive asset to our rebellion."
Hecate: "Not interested. Get out of my sight."
Zeus: "Please! At least stay neutral... if we win, I’ll reward you—"
Hecate: "Meh."
Percy: [Existing in the background, looking majestic] "Uh, hello?"
Hecate: [Immediate 180] "And that’s the exact moment I decided to destroy the entire Titan army. I NEED THAT TWINK!!"
The funniest part? It happens with everyone. Male Titans, female Titans—everyone is down bad for him. And Percy? He is completely oblivious to all of it. He’s just the "pretty boy" who accidentally swung the war in the gods' favor. He has a massive list of "lovers" who he doesn't even realize are his lovers.
Godly Domains
Some of the domains he would embody:
Hope & Loyalty (The classic Percy traits).
The Stars & Constellations.
Protection & Guidance for Travelers (Using the stars to navigate sea or land).
Combat Prowess: Not "War" specifically, but something related to his legendary performance in the Titanomachy.
Mysteries: The "Stars" connection gives him a lot of overlap with Hecate, who teaches him "Ancient Magic" (or whatever the gods call it).
Poisons & Equity.
Oaths & Protector of the Innocent.
Guide of Souls at Sea.
Any version of an oracle by the stars?
Most of his domains were obtained through his own merit; he sought them out and fought to acquire them, or so the story goes. In reality, he simply wanted to help and protect his family, and unconsciously gained domains as a result.
Basically, Percy is the Firstborn of Everything: the first grandson, the first nephew, and the first son of the new generation.
