Why don’t you ship it?

See the thing is I didn't even considered it until this ask LOL Buuuut I doooooo see the vision. Oh, the tragedy of it all and the way that Buccaneer's last monologue was directed to something they both talked about I CAN SEE IT I CAN SEE IT is just that huuh The fact that I didn't even consider it before is a hit against it. I see the potential romance and tragedy, the issue is that The Vibes aren't in there and would have to really dig to get it.

What would have made you like it?

I guess more than anything would be to get more on Buccaneer? He is cool and all but he has a very specific purpose and he serves it right. I guess I also would like more how Olivier works with her subordinates in a more day-to-day basis. This is something I would apply for everyone in Briggs tbh they are quite the interesting, unique group and I wish I could see more about them.

Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?

Yea! Again I do see what is really appealing of it and I can see myself shaking it in my head and getting something out of it!

Blast from the past because I can (and because I have an inkling of what you'd say about a lot of these for Royai already :P): Oliveer - 3, 16, 27, 33

Oh my gosh I HAVEN'T THOUGHT ABOUT THESE TWO IN SO LONG. Okay, I have to try to think about them in anything more than omake mode. I'll answer at least one question seriously XD

3. What was their first impression of each other?

Buccaneer is a northern guy through and through. He was already at Briggs when Olivier got transferred up as the new commander, and his first impression of her was relief that the person taking charge wasn't as wussy as the last southerner who got sent their way.

Olivier knew about the last commander and was surprised to find the troops acting as a well-maintained machine together. On first sight of Buccaneer, Olivier's first thought was, "He'd better not be as useless as my brother," and she basically put him through the wringer that first meeting. (Buccaneer: heh, excellent >:D)

16. Would they ever get matching tattoos? If yes, what would these look like?

YES. It'd be something like ... everyone in Briggs has this particular insignia on their uniform, and these two idiots got that insignia tattooed on their biceps.

27. How do they say “I love you” non-verbally?

Non verbally ... well by setting an order that would see the other one dead by a certain time and then giving a broken watch to check the time, for one canon example <3

33. How do they flirt? Who’s the worse flirt?

Olivier is 100% the worse flirt. She can pretend to flirt, with Raven for example, but she despises it. Why hide feelings under layers of words that don't actually mean exactly what you say when you can get actual results from just saying it right out? You want a man to date you? You order him to meet you at a location and you do the date.

Buccaneer would flirt with her if he could get away with it - and in some trifling little ways he does (making fun of her for her forthright actions, the occasional saucy look) - but if he tries to get too suave or too sophisticated with his flirting it starts reminding Olivier of Mustang and she hates it. Buccaneer has gladly given up flirting in order to actually get somewhere with Olivier.

A Childon War. I'm like to Visit Rober Cappa, the Experty in November. The War is emotional but the fear he photographd is cold in Black and White. It gets a Gost in the Picture and the flow in his Picture gets to waves and a shore he get land with the GI'sin the Normandie.

For the AU Prompt: Nature Documentary AU with Buccaneer and Olivier

I’m sorry these took so long to get to!

-So Buccaneer is a naturalist and biologist who has been studying this one species of bear for years.

-when he hears that a very rich family wants to sponsor a nature doc about the Briggs Mountains and the Briggs Mountain Grizzly, he’s absolutely ecstatic, and jumps at the chance to join the team

-Except he didn’t count on having to put up with a “stuck up” and “posh” and “sissy livered” etc representative of the family. He is... None to Pleased by the revelation, especially when he sees that said representative looks like a fashion model, and worse, because of her, even more useless people are now being toted around, including a beleaguered secretary who is very obviously more used to a desert climate.

-Except, of course Olivier is not nearly as.... useless as she looks. She’s actually had a deep interest in the Briggs region herself, and is the major push behind the documentary’s funding. She wants to bring attention to the harsh and beautiful environment, and help keep it protected.

-There’s a lot of animosity between them at first, as Olivier insists on running things the “Armstrong Way”, and Buccaneer insists on doing things in the way he’s always done them, using secrets of mountain tribes he’s descended from. Not alot of work gets done, and the team is struggling between all the push and pull to actually film the animals they came to film.

-It all tides over after they get trapped together, separated from the rest of team during a surprise storm. They’re forced to work together, and start to realise each other’s actual strengths, the hidden things that bring them together.

-This is just affirmed when they (using a smaller more portable camera) get some incredible shots of a bear family, doing bear things, including some behaviours that are rarely observed. Both are over the moon, and from then on, the documentary is smooth sailing.

-It totally wins some kind of fancy film award, and during the acceptance speech/after party what have you, Buc and Liv kiss, finally admitting what they’d felt growing throughout the trip. Miles (the beleaguered assistant) wins at least one betting pool. Her family is... a little distressed, and Olivier couldn’t care less, because she’s always loved her job/hobby more than she’s cared about other’s opinions of what she does.

-They live together happily in the mountains part time, continuing to study and film the bears, and the mountains, and eventually their children and friends and family.

Bonus: At least once during the trip someone jokingly was filming the filmmaker’s camp. Miles, in his best Steve Irwin impression started to joke about finding the “Elusive Briggs Grizzly”, and observing it’s sleeping habits. Then he opens Buccaneers tent, and is... more than a little embarrassed to find that “the Elusive Grizzly” has a mate. The footage is never found.
