'Back to Basics.'✨⠀ ⠀ Can you believe it's December already? This month always makes me reflect and think about the year that has passed. It has been a tough year this year but, I choose to dwell on the positives. They always outweigh the bad once you count your blessings. I'll be 35 at the end of the month, and that in itself is daunting but, I'm okay with it. I see a lot of new faces so I thought it would be a great time to do 5 things you didn't know about me & invite you to tell me something I didn't know about YOU!⠀ ⠀ 5 THINGS:⠀ ⠀ 1. I have quite a few tattoos & some are big!⠀ ⠀ 2. Seems like a lifetime ago but, I wrote TV scripts for a little segment called 'Heritage Highlights' on CBC. If you're local, you might have seen them. ⠀ ⠀ 3. I worked in healthcare in a long-term care facility for almost a decade then returned to my original love. Journalism. ⠀ ⠀ 4. I am very loyal to the people I love and I love hard. ⠀ ⠀ 5. I am currently obsessed with @lorealmakeup's mascara, eyeshadow palette, and lipstick. Thank you to L'Oreal for sending me these to try. Burgundy is the new black, y'all. I'm wearing all of them in my selfie and I think it goes well with my new dark hair. I like how subtle the burgundy mascara is and the eyeshadow blends well for a natural look. 'Let It Go!'🏵️✨⠀ ⠀ Some days, we feel like we can't get a moment's peace. We all have mounting responsibilities. With our jobs, child-rearing, keeping a home etc. The @OprahMagazine launched their first EVER Special Issue. Let me tell you, it's exactly what I needed to read. Especially with the holidays coming up. It's an issue filled with ways to de-stress, declutter, recharging, and because we SO deserve it, taking a moment's peace for ourselves. I do this by trying to get more sleep, decluttering and letting go of things I haven't used in 6 months, and taking that well-deserved bath. Make sure you pick up a copy, they're on newsstands until December 31st! ⠀ ⠀ Feeling Inspired?⠀ ⠀ I am. Since I didn't get a chance to celebrate the list in NYC with the O Fam, they sent me a little piece of Oprah's Favorite Things' list.
