Possible Explanation for the Omega Thing

Look, obv, Disney/Filoni/Corbett/Rau etc. probably just don’t care that they’re being racist and that genes don’t work like that.

But I kind of like the idea that Jango Fett is a chimera.

For those who don’t know, that’s when you have more than one genome making up your body. Basically, like, some of your cells come from a non-identical sibling you fused with in the womb. For instance, there was a cis woman named Lydia Fairchild who was tested to see if she was the biological mother of her children, and even though she was, the test came back negative, because when they took cells from her body for the test they took cells that didn’t have the same DNA as the cells that made her eggs.

(I don’t know if I’m explaining this well; I’m not a geneticist.)

Theoretically, Boba and Omega could both be exact, unaltered clones made out of Jango Genes, but not the same Jango Genes. Genetically, Boba and Omega would be non-identical siblings, so they very well might have different hair colors/skin colors (they could even be of different sexes, but not necessarily, so this wouldn’t negate any trans/intersex headcanons) (but again, as far as I can tell, TBB is just being lazy and colorist and/or badly foreshadowing another plot twist about Omega’s origins).

I like this theory because I like the mental image of the Kaminoans discovering this completely by accident.

“Hey, you know how we swabbed the inside of Jango Fett’s right cheek and dumped those cells in a petri dish and rearranged the cells’ genes like LEGOs and make a clone army out of the result?”

“......Yes?”

“I got a little bored and a little drunk over the weekend and grew the cells we took from Jango Fett’s LEFT cheek, and HOLY SHIT YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED NEXT.”

Omega’s existence semi-confirms what I have long suspected, which is that sometimes Jango Fett’s SRY gene just says

No.

Can’t do it.

Not today.
