I know you've mentioned before that ffxv is plot wise different from versus 13 (the killing teenagers wise) yet the trailer for XV seems to imply that? With noct having glowing orange eyes and attacking luna. Do you think they tried to keep that idea then just deviated from it or the trailer was just to make people interested? I hope that makes sense.
Yup, that was the idea! The vs concept is another failed timeline of 15. That's why you see Noctis alone in it. So, it's saying Regis already restitched time and made the bros go with him. At the end of 15, he does it again, but we don't get to see what changes he made. He's trying to save Noctis from dying, which has been his entire motivation through the whole thing. Regis had some of the best character development, but it got hidden in the other media.
